WASHINGTON, DC: President Trump honored brave little Dalilah Coleman during his State of the Union address. The young girl was left fighting for her life after a horrific truck crash caused by an illegal immigrant behind the wheel.

The pint-sized survivor is now in first grade and relearning how to walk. She sat in the audience with her father, Marcus, as Trump hailed her resilience and blasted lax border policies that put dangerous drivers on American roads.

Trump recounts highway horror

In June 2024, Dalilah was just five years old when an 18-wheel tractor-trailer slammed into her family's stopped car at over 60 mph in a California construction zone.

"The driver was an illegal alien let in by Joe Biden and given a commercial driver's license by open borders politicians, and California," Trump said from the podium.

Partap Singh, the Indian national behind the wheel, had crossed the border in 2022 and was released into the country under the Biden administration. He even received a commercial driver's license from California's DMV despite his illegal status.

The impact left Dalilah with a traumatic brain injury and cerebral palsy, requiring lifelong care and therapy. She was airlifted to a hospital and spent three weeks in a coma, with doctors warning she might never walk, talk, eat, or live a normal life.

"Doctors said that she would never be able to walk or talk, have a good life. She wouldn't even be able to eat again," Trump recounted in his address.

Singh was finally arrested by ICE last August and remains in custody pending immigration proceedings.

Defying the grim prognosis, Dalilah fought back. "But against all odds, she is now in the first grade learning to walk, and she's here this evening with her dad, Marcus, a fantastic man," the President said.

"Please come out you are a great inspiration. Please stand up," Trump urged, as applause erupted in the chamber. "Many if not most illegal aliens cannot speak English and cannot read even the most basic road signs as to direction, speed, danger, or location," the President declared.

Push for the 'Dalilah Law'

Trump demanded action, calling on Congress to pass new legislation in the girl's name.

"That’s why tonight I’m calling on Congress to pass what we will call the Dalilah Law, barring any state from granting commercial driver’s licenses to illegal aliens," he announced.

The proposed 'Delilah Law' aims to slam the brakes on states issuing CDLs to illegal immigrants, tying into the Trump administration's audits of state DMVs for sloppy enforcement on non-citizen licenses.

Trucking industry leaders applauded the call for tougher standards.

"Tonight, the President highlighted the tragic consequences of a preventable truck crash caused by an unqualified truck driver," said Todd Spencer, president of the Owner-Operator Independent Drivers Association.

"For professional truckers, safety is not political; it is our daily responsibility. Ensuring that every individual operating an 80,000-pound commercial vehicle on America’s highways is properly vetted, trained, and held to consistent standards is essential to protecting our members and the motoring public," Spencer added.
