WASHINGTON, DC: White House trade adviser Peter Navarro publicly lashed out at interim US Attorney Jeanine Pirro during Steve Bannon's War Room on Monday, August 10, accusing the fellow Trump ally of refusing to remove a federal prosecutor involved in the January 6-related prosecutions of both men.
The outburst came after Bannon casually mentioned Pirro's name during the interview, prompting Navarro to launch into a lengthy criticism of the former Fox News host, who now serves as interim US attorney for the District of Columbia. Navarro argued that prosecutor John Crabb should no longer remain in the office because of his role in their criminal cases.
Navarro erupts over prosecutor
The exchange began when Navarro interrupted the conversation after Bannon referenced Pirro.
"Do me a favor, Steve, when I'm on camera and you don't want to talk about something like Jeanine Pirro, never mention her friggin' name to me," Navarro said.
Bannon attempted to calm the exchange, responding, "Stop, stop, stop, we love Jeanine."

Navarro continued, saying Pirro had "refused to fire John Crabb," the prosecutor he said helped secure convictions against both him and Bannon.
"That woman still refuses to fire John Crabb, the prosecutor who was involved in putting you and me behind bars," Navarro said.
He also questioned why Crabb remained in the office, recalling the prosecutor's courtroom argument that Navarro believed placed him "above the law."
Bannon distances himself
As Navarro continued criticizing Pirro, Bannon sought to separate himself from the remarks while allowing the exchange to continue.
"I want Judge Pirro to know I had nothing to do with this outburst," Bannon said during the broadcast.
Navarro nevertheless continued directing his comments toward Pirro, asking, "Jeanine, are you listening?"
Navarro made clear his criticism was not directed at Pirro's past work but at her decision to keep John Crabb in the US Attorney's Office after taking over the role. He argued the prosecutor, who handled the contempt cases against both him and Steve Bannon, should have been removed.
Bannon, however, sought to distance himself from Navarro's remarks during the interview, telling viewers he had "nothing to do with this outburst."
