WASHINGTON, DC: President Donald Trump insisted that the name "Avraham" is rightly pronounced as "Abraaaham," calling it "more elegant."
Standing next to Israeli Prime MinisterBenjamin Netanyahu at the White House on September 29, Trump spoke about his role in the 2020 normalization agreement between Israel and several Muslim-majority countries.
Trump says no other POTUS has 'been a greater friend to the state of Israel'
Trump said, "No president in history has been a greater friend to the state of Israel than I have. In addition to negotiating the Abraaaham accords," as he paused dramatically, drawing out the name with a strange, theatrical pronunciation.
"I like to say it that way because the real people, that’s what they call it, Abraaaham," the POTUS claimed. He doubled down: "I would say Abraham, but it’s so much nicer when you say Abraaaham, so much more elegant."

Meanwhile, Netanyahu was seen correcting Trump.
"Under [Trump’s] leadership, we can reenergize…," the Israeli Prime Minister said, before stopping and clarifying, "I have to contribute my own—the Avraham Accords." He added, "That’s what it’s called in the original Hebrew: Avraham. Abraham is fine, Abraaaham—however you want to call it."

The purpose of Monday's event was to announce a proposed peace framework.
Trump and Netanyahu back Gaza peace plan
Israel agreed to his 20-point "Comprehensive Plan to End the Gaza Conflict," which was released by the White House while the two leaders met behind closed doors, according to Trump.
The plan includes conditions, with the supposed end goal of a two-state solution and a ban on Israel annexing Gaza.
Trump said, "I also want to thank Prime Minister Netanyahu for agreeing to the plan and for trusting that if we work together, we can bring an end to the death and destruction that we’ve seen for so many years, decades—even centuries, and begin a new chapter of security, peace and prosperity for the entire region."
"Today is a historic day for peace — and Prime Minister @netanyahu and I have just concluded an important meeting...we discussed how to end the war in Gaza, but it's just a part of the bigger picture, which is peace in the Middle East." - PRESIDENT DONALD J. TRUMP pic.twitter.com/5f9PF9EC3c

The plan proposes an immediate end to military operations. It stipulates that within 72 hours, 20 living Israeli hostages must be released, along with the remains of more than two dozen hostages who are believed to be dead.
Speaking at a news conference following talks at the White House, the POTUS called the plan "a historic day for peace."
Meanwhile, the Palestinian Authority, which governs the Israeli-occupied West Bank, described the US president’s efforts as "sincere and determined."
