WASHINGTON, DC: President Donald Trump said that he has received a favorable response to his peace plans in the Middle East and is hopeful that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will agree with them when they meet on Septermber 29.
Meanwhile, Israeli forces have advanced deep into Gaza City as tensions continue in the region.
Trump hopeful Benjamin Netanyahu will back Gaza peace proposal
Trump revealed on Sunday, September 28, that he received a very good response to his proposal to end the conflict in Gaza and remained hopeful about Netanyahu’s support for the plan when they meet at the White House on Monday, September 29.
US special envoy Steve Witkoff and Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner, who served as a Middle East envoy during Trump’s first term, are already discussing the plan with Netanyahu in New York, Trump said.
US unveils 21-point Gaza peace plan at UN to end nearly two-year war

The US has introduced a 21-point Middle East peace proposal at the United Nations in New York this week, aimed at ending the nearly two-year-long war in Gaza, which began after the deadly attack of October 7, 2023.
The plan includes the return of all hostages, dead or alive, an end to Israel’s attack on Qatar, and renewed dialogue between Israel and Palestine for peaceful coexistence. However, on Saturday, September 27, a Hamas representative said that the group has not seen the US plan.
Trump credited the leaders of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, and Jordan for their contributions to the process. According to him, the deal could not only end the conflict in Gaza but also bring broader peace to the Middle East.
“Everybody’s involved. Everybody wants it, and Hamas wants it, and one of the reasons is because everybody’s tired of war,” Trump said, although he didn't provide details for a potential ceasefire-for-hostages agreement.
JD Vance outlines three key goals of Gaza peace deal talks
Earlier, Vice President JD Vance said that senior US officials are engaged in very complicated talks with Israeli and Arab leaders. Netanyahu also suggested granting amnesty to Hamas under the deal if they agree to free all the hostages.
According to Vance, the plan has three main goals: returning all hostages, stopping the Hamas threat to Israel, and increasing humanitarian aid in Gaza.
“I feel more optimistic about where we are right now than where we have been at any point in the last few months,” Vance said.
