WASHINGTON, DC: President Donald Trump mixed humor with political jabs during a lighthearted moment with children at the White House Easter Egg Roll on Monday, April 6, drawing laughs from those around him.

The annual event, known for its festive and family-friendly atmosphere, took on a slightly sharper edge as Trump brought up former President Joe Biden in conversation.

As the children worked on their drawings, Trump playfully suggested that his signature could turn into something valuable for them.

"Then tonight, you could sell them for $25,000 on eBay," Trump joked, getting a round of laughter from those nearby. The comment seemed to land well with the kids and adults alike, keeping the mood light.

But Trump quickly shifted gears, taking the opportunity to reference Biden in his own trademark style. “Biden would use the autopen,” he said.

“He was incapable of signing his name, so they’d follow him around with this big machine. You know what it was called? An autopen!”

Young boy’s candid praise becomes highlight of the day

The moment wasn’t just about Trump’s jokes. A spontaneous interaction with a young attendee quickly became one of the most talked-about parts of the day.

As Trump remained seated at the table, a young boy wandered up behind him and, without hesitation, said, “Donald Trump, you’re the best president!”

The unexpected compliment drew attention, and Trump responded warmly in his own way: “Thank you, honey. I agree.”

Patriotic theme and family-friendly activities fill the South Lawn

This year’s Easter Egg Roll carried the theme of “patriotic spirit,” with the South Lawn transforming into a lively space packed with activities for families and children.

Alongside the traditional egg roll, there were several interactive stations designed to keep kids engaged. These included military card writing, space-themed activities, egg decorating, and even a mini golf setup.

According to the Office of the First Lady, the goal of the event was to bring families together while celebrating Easter and highlighting values like freedom and tradition that are central to the American story.

The atmosphere remained upbeat throughout, with children moving from one activity to another and families soaking in the festive setting.

Trump family and special attractions add to the celebrations

The event also saw the presence of several members of Trump’s family.

Among those spotted were his son Eric Trump and daughter-in-law Lara Trump, along with daughter Tiffany Trump and her husband Michael Boulos.

Beyond the usual attractions, there were a few standout additions that caught the attention of attendees.

An AI-Creation Station offered a modern twist, while activities like flower bouquet building, a flight lab, and a sensory-friendly egg hunt ensured there was something for everyone.

There were even live chickens on the lawn, adding a playful touch to the Easter celebrations.

Another highlight was an immersive experience hosted by America250, which showcased the country’s historic monuments through an activity called “George the Star’s Journey.”
