WASHINGTON, DC: Donald Trump played down a reporter’s question about his mental fitness on Monday, April 6, in regard to a controversial Truth Social post shared by the president on Sunday.

The president also claimed that he does not worry about his critics and their views about him after launching a war against Iran in February.

Trump issues severe warning to Iran in Truth Social post

Trump on April 5 had posted on social media, “Tuesday will be Power Plant Day, and Bridge Day, all wrapped up in one, in Iran. There will be nothing like it!!! Open the F***** Strait, you crazy bastards, or you’ll be living in Hell – JUST WATCH! Praise be to Allah.”

Soon he was called out by several international legal experts as well as commentators across the political spectrum, with a few politicians floating the possibility of invoking the 25th Amendment.

Trump dismisses reporter’s question about mental health

On Monday during a media conference, when a reporter asked Trump, “You called the — yesterday in your Truth Social — you called the Iranians ‘crazy bastards’,” he replied, “True.”

The journalist further questioned, “What is your response to critics who say that it is…”

“I don’t care about critics,” the Republican leader stated.

But when the reporter further grilled, “What is your response to critics who say that it is your mental health that should perhaps be examined as this war continues?”

Trump responded, “I haven’t heard that, but if that’s the case, you’re going to have to have more people like me, because our country was being ripped off on trade, on mil– on everything, for many years until I came along.”

“So if that’s the case, you’re going to have to have more people,” he asserted.

Trump faced a lot of scrutiny for his Sunday post, with Senator Bernie Sanders saying: “One month after starting the war in Iran, this is the statement of the President of the United States on Easter Sunday. These are the ravings of a dangerous and mentally unbalanced individual. Congress has got to act NOW. End this war.”

“DJT is clearly unfit for office. His Truth Social post is incomprehensibly dangerous and unhinged. The GOP is complicit and must wake up from their stupor to save our nation,” Representative Maxine Dexter added.

Chris Murphy called the POTUS’ post “utterly unhinged” while stating, “If I were in Trump's Cabinet, I would spend Easter calling constitutional lawyers about the 25th Amendment. He's already killed thousands. He's going to kill thousands more.”
