WASHINGTON, DC: President Donald Trump isn’t just negotiating with Democrats, he’s also trolling them in the process.

With the US barreling toward a possible government shutdown, Trump took to Truth Social and posted an AI-generated video mocking his rivals as desperate, unpopular, and begging for new voters.

The post came just hours after he met face-to-face with Senate Democratic Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries at the White House.

Government shutdown looms as White House talks collapse

The country is staring down the barrel of a government shutdown after high-stakes talks at the White House ended in deadlock.

WASHINGTON - MAY 31: The exterior view of the south side of the White House is seen May 31, 2005 in Washington, DC. Vanity Fair Magazine reported that former FBI official W. Mark Felt claimed himself was ?Deep Throat,? the anonymous source who provided information to Washington Post reporter Bob Woodward?s famous Watergate investigation report that led to the former President Richard Nixon's resignation. The funding standoff, largely driven by disputes over health care policy, threatens to halt federal operations and jeopardize the paychecks and benefits of thousands of government employees. Essential services are also at risk.

If lawmakers can’t strike a deal by October 1, the lights go out in DC.

Trump shares AI deepfake mocking Democrats on immigration and health care

Trump’s post shows a deepfake of Chuck Schumer standing at a podium, with Hakeem Jeffries next to him wearing a sombrero.

“Look guys, there’s no way to sugarcoat it, nobody likes Democrats anymore,” the fake Schumer says in the video. “We have no votes left because of all of our woke, trans bulls***. Not even Black people want to vote for us anymore, even Latinos hate us, so we need new voters, and if we give all these illegal aliens free health care, we might be able to get them on our side so they can vote for us.”

That jab echoes Speaker Mike Johnson’s GOP talking point that Democrats want to reverse provisions in the new Republican megabill that specifically block noncitizens from receiving public benefits.

The fake Schumer adds, “They can't even speak English, so they won’t realize we’re just a bunch of woke pieces of s***, you know, at least for a while until they learn English and they realize they hate us too.”

Democrats push back against Trump’s AI attack and shutdown plan

Hakeem Jeffries fired back by posting a photo of Trump alongside his late former friend, convicted s*x offender Jeffrey Epstein.

“It’s a disgusting video,” he said in an MSNBC interview. “And we’re gonna continue to make clear: Bigotry will get you nowhere. We are fighting to protect the healthcare of the American people in the face of an unprecedented Republican assault.”

The House minority leader doubled down on X: “Bigotry will get you nowhere. Cancel the Cuts. Lower the Cost. Save Healthcare. We are NOT backing down.”

Chuck Schumer was also not having it. “If you think your shutdown is a joke, it just proves what we all know: You can’t negotiate. You can only throw tantrums,” the senator posted on X.

Behind the scenes, even Republicans admitted the optics aren’t great. “This might top the last shutdown,” one senior GOP aide told Politico anonymously, referencing Trump’s record-breaking 35-day shutdown fiasco in 2018–2019.
