THE VILLAGES, FLORIDA: President Donald Trump mocked Ilhan Omar as he held a rally in The Villages, Florida, on Friday, May 1, at The Villages Charter School.

The POTUS opened with a bizarre impression of the progressive Democratic lawmaker, using an accent while addressing the crowd. The remarks came during his first public appearance in Florida after an alleged third assassination attempt against him last week.

Trying to imitate her, Trump reportedly said, “She comes here from Somalia and she tries to tell us how to run the United States of America.”

“She says, ‘The Constitution gives me certain rights, gives me certain rights.’ And I demand that I be given these rights’ — Get the hell out, what a phony,’” he stated, before bringing up the unproven claim that Omar was once married to her brother — Ahmed Nur Said Elmi — so he could move to the US.

“I believe she married her brother, which is totally illegal,” Trump claimed during the rally as he added, “It's a lovely couple, actually, but it's a little bit on the illegal side.”

The Republican leader then appeared to impersonate Omar as he added, “Good night, brother. Let's go to bed.’”

Trump targets Gavin Newsom, calls for cognitive test

However, Omar was not the only politician targeted by Trump during the rally. The US president also criticized California Governor Gavin Newsom and suggested he take a cognitive test.

“We should give him a cognitive test. I took three of them. Aced all of them, by the way. I'm the only president to take a cognitive test,” he claimed.

Trump further alleged that Newsom has dyslexia while continuing his criticism of the Democratic governor.

Trump references White House Correspondents’ Dinner shooting

Elsewhere in his speech, Trump mentioned the shooting at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner involving a suspect — Cole Tomas Allen — whose alleged targets were the president and administration officials.

He said, “There was just an attempt–I won't use the word an attempt–they say on my life.”

“I should be indoors at a secure facility where I can quietly, beautifully and safely play out my term destroying everything that comes in our way, like bad countries that want to get nuclear weapons,” Trump added, without naming Iran.

The US-led conflict involving Tehran has continued for months without any immediate resolution, contributing to global energy concerns.

Despite that, Trump claimed, “Grocery prices are way down, used car prices are way down. Look at eggs.”
