Trump praises Melania’s ‘incredible impact’ on American youth in State of the Union

WASHINGTON, DC: During his State of the Union address on Tuesday, February 24, President Donald Trump praised first lady Melania Trump for her dedication to America’s youth and her impact on various initiatives.

Highlighting her accomplishments over the past year, the president recognized her efforts in education, AI legislation, foster care, and more. He had previously referred to her as "a movie star" in connection with the release of her documentary, while also highlighting the strong bipartisan support she has received for her initiatives.

Trump comments on Melania's impact on American youth and AI

Trump highlighted Melania’s commitment to protecting America’s youth, calling her “wonderful” and noting her influence in shaping programs that help students and educators across the country.

Over the past year, she has championed AI legislation, advanced a landmark executive order on foster care, and helped secure $30 million to launch the Melania Trump Foster Youth to Independence initiative.

Trump described these achievements as “tremendous” and noted the strong bipartisan support she received, joking that she “gets much better at bipartisan support than I do. Someday you're going to have to tell me how you did that.”

He also acknowledged her leadership in education, noting that students and educators in every state have joined her efforts in the presidential AI challenge. According to the president, these initiatives position America’s next generation to “succeed and strongly succeed in the future.”

During the address, he welcomed two young people, Sierra Burns and Everest Nevermont, to show the real impact of Melania's work and personally thanked her for all her hard work.

Trump comments on Melania's documentary success

Beyond her advocacy work, Trump previously lauded Melania for her achievements in the entertainment world. During a conversation with reporters at his Board of Peace event on Thursday, February 19.

Trump spoke about her documentary film, 'Melania,' which opened to $7.04 million at the box office during its first weekend. “She has a very successful movie out right now, like number one. Can you believe this?” he said, calling her a “big movie star.”

While emphasizing her success, Trump also added a humorous caveat about family dynamics. “I always say it’s trouble, because I always say there’s not room in one family for two stars. I told her that we can’t have two stars in one family. The theaters are all packed."

He continued highlighting both her popularity and the public’s strong interest in her work, "Women, especially, they go back, and they see it two or three times, four times.”
