NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Former president and GOP nominee Donald Trump admitted regretting some of his posts on social media, in light of sharing a crude joke on Vice President Kamala Harris and former Sectary of State Hillary Clinton that earned him strong backlash online.

Trump commented during his interview on the 'Lex Fridman Podcast,' released on YouTube on Tuesday, September 3.

Donald Trump's crude remark on Kamala Harris and Hillary Clinton

Trump triggered a massive outrage on social media after he reshared a post on his platform Truth Social on August 27, which suggested that Harris slept her way up the political ladder by dating former San Francisco Mayor Willie Brown in the 1990s. It also implicated Clinton by referring to her husband, former president Bill Clinton's affair with Monica Lewinsky.

The 'reTruthed' post was originally uploaded from an account named 'The Penguin.' It carried a photograph showing Harris and Clinton smiling together, with the caption, "Funny how b******s impacted both their careers differently…”

Donald Trump's afterthought on social media posts

During the interview, Fridman said he would like to know Trump's "psychology behind the tweets and the posts on Truth (Social)."

"Are you sometimes being intentionally provocative or are you just speaking your mind; and are there times where you regret some of the Truths you posted?" he asked.

"Yeah, I do, but not that often," replied the controversial businessman. "I do a lot of reposting. The ones you get in trouble with are the reposts because you find down deep, they're into some group that you're not supposed to be reposting. You don't even know if those groups are good, bad, or indifferent."

"But the reposts are the ones that really get you in trouble," he continued to explain. "When you do your own words it's sort of easier. But the reposts go very quickly. And if you're going to check every single little symbol, and, uh, I don't know, it used to work out pretty well for me."

"Truth is very powerful, it's my platform and it's been powerful, very, very powerful. It goes everywhere. I call it my typewriter, you know? That's actually my typewriter," he added.

Internet continues to deride Trump for his posts

Netizens reacting to Donald Trump's comments on the website of the Daily Mail did not buy into his explanation and continued to slam him over his social media posts. The following examples demonstrate the prevalent take.

"Trump needs the women vote and his comments, tweets reveal how he REALLY views women. In Trump's world, women succeed only by sleeping their way to the top. He has no one to blame but himself," wrote a person.

"Tomorrow he’ll say he is proud of the same post. Donald is everything to everyone because all he wants is power," stated another.

"No he doesn’t… his apology is just another headline and more attention - for HIM," echoed a third.

"Wait, he said that he didn’t know if it was good or bad to repost something like that? Has he no decency or common sense?" slammed a fourth.

"The man who aspires to be president admits he is incapable of making an informed decision when reposting content! Hardly bodes well for good governance," called out a fifth.

"He can't even say 'I'm sorry' let alone feel bad about anything," remarked a sixth.

"He never accepts responsibility for anything he says or does! He is the most immature 78-year-old walking the face of the earth!" commented yet another.
