Trump remains in ‘excellent health’ after latest medical exam, says White House physician
WASHINGTON, DC: President Donald Trump remains in “excellent health” and is fully capable of carrying out the duties of the presidency, according to a new medical report released by the White House following his latest examination at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.
The report, issued Friday, May 29, by White House physician Dr Sean Barbabella, followed Trump’s third in-person medical evaluation in the past 13 months.
Latest exam shows normal results
According to the report, Trump’s examinations produced largely normal findings across multiple areas of health.

The president underwent a series of routine tests covering cardiovascular health, pulmonary function, neurological performance, vision, and other key health indicators.
“He is fully fit to carry out all duties of the Commander-in-Chief,” Dr Sean Barbabella, the president’s physician, wrote in the memo.
The results were largely normal, with Barbabella noting “slight lower leg swelling,” and bruising on the hand, “consistent with minor soft tissue irritation related to frequent handshaking in the setting of aspirin use for cardiovascular prevention.”
Barbabella reported Trump’s weight as 238 pounds with a resting heart rate of 73 beats per minute. Trump also took a neurological exam that included screening for cognitive function, which was within normal limits with a score of 30 out of 30, Barbabella claims. Trump regularly boasts that he aced the cognitive exams.
Trump is taking medication for cholesterol control and cardiac prevention, Barbabella said.
Barbabella also noted that the president remains current on recommended preventive screenings and immunizations.
Physician notes minor findings
While describing Trump’s overall health as excellent, the report included a few routine observations.
“The President remains up to date on all appropriate preventive screenings and immunizations,” Barbabella said.
“Routine cancer screenings, cardiovascular risk assessment, and metabolic evaluations are current and within recommended intervals. Preventive counseling was provided, including guidance on diet, recommendation to take a low-dose aspirin, increased physical activity, and continued weight loss.”
Doctors noted slight swelling in the president’s lower legs as well as bruising on one of his hands.
According to the physician, the bruising is consistent with minor soft-tissue irritation associated with frequent handshaking while taking aspirin for cardiovascular prevention.
Trump, who will turn 80 in June, is the oldest person to assume the presidency. He regularly insists he is in excellent health, most recently Tuesday following his visit to Walter Reed in Bethesda, Maryland.
“Just finished my 6 month physical at Walter Reed Military Medical Center. Everything checked out PERFECTLY. Thank you to the great Doctors and Staff!” Trump posted on Truth Social.
