WASHINGTON, DC: President Donald Trump is once again making headlines over remarks related to Jeffrey Epstein’s files.
During an August 1 interview with Newsmax host Rob Finnerty, Trump stated that he wants to release all the documents but explained what’s holding him back.
He also repeated his controversial position on the possibility of pardoning Ghislaine Maxwell, who is currently serving a 20-year sentence for serious federal offenses.
Donald Trump says he supports full Epstein file release but warns against harming innocent people

In a widely shared interview clip circulating on X, Donald Trump shared his thoughts on the long-awaited release of the Jeffrey Epstein files.
Speaking with Newsmax host Rob Finnerty, Trump said, “I think [Blanche] probably wanted to know, you know, just to get a feeling of it, because we’d like to release everything, but we don’t want people to get hurt that shouldn’t be hurt. I want to release everything. I just don't want people to get hurt.”
He added that his legal adviser, Todd Blanche, likely reviewed the material to assess any potential harm, stating, “Todd went in and I think he just wants to make sure that innocent people aren’t hurt.”
Trump emphasized that he hasn’t spoken to his deputy attorney general about Ghislaine Maxwell, and he’s unaware of any current plans to release a transcript of her interview.
He also reiterated his position on a possible pardon for Maxwell, saying, “I’m allowed to do it, but nobody’s asked me to do it. I know nothing about it. I don’t know anything about the case, but I know I have the right to do it.”
Internet criticizes Donald Trump as he discusses the possible release of Epstein files

As the video of Donald Trump discussing the possible release of the Epstein files went viral, it quickly captured public attention and sparked a wave of reactions across social media. Many users chimed in with strong opinions, ranging from skepticism to mockery.
One person commented, “I believe that he doesn't know about the case because he doesn't know much about anything. But he knows he's in those files that he stored in his Mar-a-Lago bathroom.”
Another user joked, “LOL if he ever releases anything related to Epstein his name will be heavily redacted cause he's all over that report.”
Some called for full disclosure. “Only people who did something wrong will get hurt. Release everything including the videos too. The nation dares you, Trump,” one commenter demanded.
Others speculated about hidden deals and cover-ups, “Of course he does NOW that Trump has a deal with Ghizlain and the FBI has cleaned up the files,” one person claimed.
Criticism was sharp in some responses. “He can’t get out of his own way. More blatant lies. He wanted an alleged offender as AG now he will pardon two more. Who does that? And the sheep believe and defend. Disgusting. Nobody getting hurt? There is a dead victim,” a user wrote.
Others pushed for transparency, with one user stating, “The innocent have nothing to fear. Release the Epstein files.” Another raised a pointed question, “Trump ..if you know nothing about it ..then how do you know innocent people will get hurt?"
Donald Trump talks about the possibility of pardoning Sean 'Diddy' Combs

During the same interview, President Trump was also asked by Newsmax host Rob Finnerty about the possibility of pardoning Sean 'Diddy' Combs, who was recently found guilty on two counts of prostitution.
Trump offered an uncertain response, saying, “Well, he was essentially, I guess, sort of half innocent.”
The president appeared conflicted over the idea of granting clemency to his former acquaintance. He admitted that people had approached him about the possibility of a pardon for the rapper. “Probably – eh, you know, I was very friendly with him. I got along with him great, and seemed like a nice guy. I didn’t know him well, but when I ran for office he was very hostile.”
Trump went on to reflect on how personal relationships and past interactions can complicate decisions like pardons. “It’s hard, you know, like, we’re human beings, and we don’t like to have things cloud our judgment, right? But when you knew someone and you were fine, and then you run for office, and he made some terrible statements – so, I don’t know, it’s more difficult. It makes it more – I’m being honest – it makes it more difficult to do.”
He concluded by confirming, “They have talked to me about Sean.”
