PALM BEACH, FLORIDA: Donald Trump has always had a distinctive way of describing the people around him. During a press event on Friday, January 16, the president commented on his close ally, right-wing commentator Laura Loomer, while discussing investments from Arab countries.
Trump described Loomer’s behavior as “a little nasty,” but balanced it with subtle praise. He added that she is “always nice” to him and that’s “all that matters.” His remarks came during the ceremony marking the renaming of a Palm Beach boulevard in his honor.
While the commander-in-chief doesn’t always lavish praise on those he works with, he has a knack for highlighting their strengths and presenting them positively in front of the media. This time, he surely did that.
Trump praises Laura Loomer's spirit
Addressing the crowd with his trademark energy, he highlighted her presence as he reflected on his recent travels and political connections. “Hi, Laura,” the president continued on Friday, amid cheers from the crowd. “Boy, you are something. What spirit you have. Laura Loomer. Thank you, honey, for being here. I appreciate it.”
“You know, she can be a little nasty, but to me, she’s always nice, and that’s all that matters,” Trump said. “I want her to stay that way, too.” During his remarks, he referenced his trip to Qatar, taking the opportunity to give a shoutout to Loomer, whom he described as a steadfast ally.
Amid the praise. Trump spoke about Florida, and called it as an “extraordinarily red” state and reflected on how different the country seemed just a year ago, saying, “We were a dead country.”
Turning to international investment, he pointed out that Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Qatar are each contributing “two trillion dollars” to the US economy. “So we took in six trillion,” 47 explained. “That’s why we have 18, because we took six from three countries. That helps, right? Laura? Is that right?” he said, directing the question to Loomer in the audience.
Bold criticism doesn’t diminish Laura Loomer’s close ties with Trump
Laura Loomer, known for her bold and outspoken style, didn’t hold back when commenting on former Fox News host Tucker Carlson. She wrote, “Every time Tucker Qatarlson visits the White House, GOP voter turnout decreases,” showing she isn’t afraid to speak her mind, even about Trump’s allies.
In a follow-up post, she added, “Looks like the 2 million Iranian American voters will be sitting out in the midterms,” referencing Carlson’s July interview with the president of Iran. Loomer also teased future revelations about Carlson, posting on X (formerly Twitter), “Wait till you see what I’m about to release about the Carlson family. It’s going to be very embarrassing.” The details of what she plans to share are not yet public.

Tucker is a virulent Jew hater, a mouthpiece for Islamic jihadists and a Trump hater. https://t.co/USNWI64R0B pic.twitter.com/npqHX9kz3x
Yet despite her pointed remarks, Loomer remains a loyal Trump ally, and the president clearly appreciates her dedication. Her outspoken style hasn’t gone unnoticed, with Trump highlighting her commitment during a press appearance at a Palm Beach event.
