WEST PALM BEACH, FLORIDA: Donald Trump claimed on Sunday, March 29, that there’s regime change in Iran as the US killed Tehran’s top officials. The president made the claim while speaking with reporters on Air Force One en route to Joint Base Andrews on Sunday, March 29.

He said, “We’ve had regime change, if you look already, because the one regime was decimated, destroyed, they’re all dead. The next regime is mostly dead, and the third regime, we’re dealing with different people than anybody’s dealt with before.”

Trump says new regime in Iran is ‘very reasonable'

“It’s a whole different group of people. So I would consider that regime change, and frankly, they’ve been very reasonable,” Trump added as he also asserted that the “regime change isn’t imperative but I think we have it automatically.”

The US commander in chief also told reporters that Washington is negotiating with Tehran “directly and indirectly.” He noted, “We are negotiating with (Iran) directly and indirectly… And as you know, they have agreed to send eight boats two days ago and then they added another two. So it was 10 boats.”

Trump further revealed that “a sign of respect” Iran has given the US “20 boats of oil, big big boats of oil going through the Hormuz Strait,” before adding, “We are doing extremely well with that negotiation, but you never know with Iran because we negotiate with them and we always have to blow them up.”

During the conversation, the 79-year-old politician once again thrashed former president Barack Obama for the Iran nuclear deal, calling it the “worst deal we’ve ever done as a country.”

“One of the dumbest deals we’ve ever done, but I terminated it fortunately, otherwise right now they’ve had a nuclear weapon,” Trump stated.

Trump blasts Obama over Iran nuclear deal

On March 27, Trump had also blamed Obama for giving $1.7 billion to Iran amid the execution of its nuclear deal.

He reportedly said at the FII PRIORITY Summit, “That Barack Hussein Obama, did you ever hear of him? Barack Hussein Obama, he had the Iran nuclear deal. He went to Iran, he paid them. Remember, he sent two Boeing 757 jetliners. They took the seats out and they piled it with cash, like 1.7 billion of cash.”

“That’s when I realized the president is very powerful. The presidency is a very powerful thing when you can do that. I haven't done that yet. I haven't found a reason to do that yet, but that's big,” Trump added.
