ARLINGTON, TEXAS: Donald Trump campaign members got physical with an Arlington National Cemetery official!

The incident occurred during a wreath-laying ceremony on Monday, August 26, honoring the 13 US service members who died on duty in Afghanistan.

Arlington National Cemetery confirmed the incident took place and a report has been filed.

Was Donald Trump staffer Corey Lewandowski involved?

Though no names have come out officially, netizens speculated it was Corey Lewandowski who was involved in the altercation on Monday.

This stems from his 2016 battery case involving a female reporter. However, the charges were later dropped.

Trump campaign spokesman Steven Cheung defended his team's action and claimed that a person physically blocked members of Trump's team during the ceremony.

Cheung added, "We are prepared to release footage if such defamatory claims are made. The fact is that a private photographer was permitted on the premises and for whatever reason an unnamed individual, clearly suffering from a mental health episode, decided to physically block members of president Trump's team during a very solemn ceremony."

Meanwhile, the cemetery's statement noted that federal law prohibits political campaign-related activities within Army National Cemeteries. These activities include “photographers, content creators or any other persons attending for purposes, or in direct support of a partisan political candidate’s campaign."

"Arlington National Cemetery reinforced and widely shared this law and its prohibitions with all participants," the statement added.

According to NPR, "When the cemetery official tried to prevent Trump campaign staff from entering Section 60, campaign staff verbally abused and pushed the official aside," per a source.

No charges have been filed as of now, reported USA Today.

Netizens point fingers at Donald Trump's staffer Corey Lewandowski

Internet was quick to speculate Corey Lewandowski's name as the staffer involved in the fight with the Arlington National Cemetery staff. Many related to his previous altercation with a female reporter in 2016.

One person commented on X, "There are multiple toxic personalities on that team including Lewendowski, Habba and Cheung. (not even counting the Trump family)" 

"I hear trump cadre and shove and it’s like, uh? Duh? But also all my compatriots on here w equally disgusting guesses are valid…but THAT guy DOES this and we know so," another user slammed.

Someone else referred to Lewandowski's previous legal troubles, saying, "I had that same thought! I‘m taking it for granted he’s going to have to be fired for assault for a third time."

One individual penned, "Corey is a documented thug. It wouldn’t shock me one bit." "Was that the guy that grab the reporter during his first reign?" another reminded of Lewandowski's previous involvement.
