PALM BEACH, FLORIDA: Donald Trump’s first interview since suing CBS has gone viral, drawing attention for his new remarks on immigration and other key issues.

One notable claim from Trump was his defense of his administration’s ICE raids. In the '60 Minutes' interview, which airs Sunday night, November 8, he asserted that the raids “haven’t gone far enough.” Trump also dismissed criticism of his immigration crackdown and blamed liberal judges for obstructing enforcement efforts.

When CBS News anchor Norah O’Donnell asked President Trump if he thought “some of these raids” had gone too far, Trump responded, “No. I think they haven’t gone far enough because we’ve been held back . . . by the liberal judges that were put in by Biden and by Obama.”

Trump added, "Americans have been watching videos of ICE tackling a young mother, tear gas being used in a Chicago residential neighborhood, and the smashing of car windows.”

The interview, filmed Friday at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida, continued with O’Donnell asking, “You’re okay with those tactics?” Trump replied, “Yeah, because you have to get the people out.”

Notably, the administration has faced several legal challenges over its deportation tactics, including one in Illinois, where a federal judge appointed by Biden blocked Trump’s plan to send National Guard troops to Chicago.

Trump mocks Zohran Mamdani in viral '60 Minutes' clip

Another humorous clip from President Donald Trump’s '60 Minutes' interview on CBS went viral on X after he responded to a comparison with New York City mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani.

The video began with host Norah O’Donnell saying, “With state and local elections coming up Tuesday, we asked the president about a highly anticipated mayoral race that includes former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo.”

When O’Donnell mentioned Mamdani, calling him “a 34-year-old democratic socialist,” Trump interrupted and said, “The communist not socialists communists. He’s far worse than a socialist.”

O’Donnell then asked Trump about the comparisons between him and Mamdani. “Some people have described him as a left-wing version of you … charismatic, breaking the old rules. What do you think about that?” she asked. Trump laughed and replied, “Well, I think I’m much better looking than him, right?”

The '60 Minutes' interview aired just weeks after journalist Bari Weiss, the former opinion editor for The Wall Street Journal and The New York Times, became editor-in-chief of the network.

Earlier this year, Trump sued CBS’s parent company, Paramount, over a 2024 '60 Minutes' segment featuring former Vice President Kamala Harris. In July, Paramount agreed to pay Trump $16 million to settle the lawsuit, which claimed the Harris interview was deceptively edited to favor his opponent during the 2024 campaign.
