MIAMI, FLORIDA: President Donald Trump delivered a speech on the US economy at the American Business Forum on Wednesday, November 5, telling business leaders that the “American dream is surging back to life” under his presidency.
Trump discussed what he described as a “changing” economy and the renewed optimism he’s seen since returning to office nearly ten months ago. He also highlighted his administration’s tax cuts and economic policies aimed at boosting growth.
The president referred to what he called a national “resurgence” and a potential “golden age” for American businesses. His remarks came a day after GOP losses in several key elections and followed an earlier Truth Social post in which he addressed the party’s setbacks against Democrats.

He went on, “You’re hearing it again more than ever because we have the most successful economy in the history of our country. During my first four years, we rebuilt the economy. We had the biggest tax cut in history, the biggest regulation cut in history. That’s why we had the great economy, and now the only difference is we’re doing even better this time.”
Trump said the nation had regained its global standing. “We’re a great nation again. It’s happened faster than I thought, I’ll be honest,” he said. “America’s respected again. America is a great nation again.”

Donald Trump administration highlights job and wage gains in economic agenda
At the Miami forum, Trump outlined new opportunities for American workers. According to Fox Business, White House officials noted that more than 183,000 new apprentices had started this year, backed by $84 million in training grants and an artificial intelligence plan designed to prepare the workforce for a tech-driven economy.
The administration also projected 500,000 new jobs by 2025 and announced $61 million in funding for homeless and at-risk veterans. Officials further highlighted ongoing efforts to lower healthcare costs. Although the release of third-quarter GDP data was delayed by the government shutdown, the Atlanta Fed’s GDP model estimated 4 percent growth for the period.
Not just focusing on overall growth, Trump pointed to three key indicators of what he described as an economic resurgence—record-high stock markets, rising wages, and improved job opportunities for American-born workers. He noted that nearly “2 million more American-born workers are employed” under his leadership.
