NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Donald Trump's Memorial Day rant did not mention a single fallen soldier, instead focused on his various legal proceedings, a behavior consistent with Trump's past actions when speaking about US service members, as a new 'Daily Show' supercut video highlights.

The 'Daily Show' posty comes after Trump referred to the US Left as "vermin" and claimed that migrants crossing the border from Mexico are "poisoning the blood of our country": statements that have faced criticism.

In 2018, Trump reportedly referred to Americans who died in combat as "suckers" and "losers," comments confirmed by his former chief of staff, John Kelly.

Donald Trump's history of controversial remarks and actions toward veterans

Additionally, Trump has repeatedly attacked war heroes and other veterans previously as well, particularly those who do not support him.

One notable example is his infamous attack on the late John McCain (R-Ariz), who was captured in Vietnam.

Trump criticized McCain for being captured, saying, "He's not a war hero. He was a war hero because he was captured. I like people who weren't captured."

Trump's controversial remarks referring to veterans as "suckers" and "losers," made his fervent supporters quickly came to his defense, rejecting the claims made in the reports.

Some of the disastrous record of failing and insulting veterans were:

According to Axios, “Former President Trump didn’t want to visit a cemetery near Paris for Americans who fought and died in World War I because it was filled with ‘suckers’ and ‘losers,’ John Kelly, his longest-serving chief of staff, said in a statement to CNN on Monday.”

The Atlantic reported that Trump stated, “Why should I go to that cemetery? It’s filled with losers.”

During a separate conversation on the same trip, Trump allegedly referred to the over 1,800 marines who perished at Belleau Wood as “suckers” for being killed.

Spectrum News highlighted that Sarah Sanders denied the allegations, stating, “Sarah Sanders Denies Report That Trump Called Military Members ‘Losers’ and ‘Suckers’.”

Politico cited Secretary of State Mike Pompeo's defense on Fox News, where he stated, “I’ve never heard the president use the language that assertedly is said in that article, about him calling military suckers and losers.”

Viewers slam Trump for his derogatory comments on veterans

Trump's comment drew widespread criticism from both sides of the political aisle.

One viewer said, "Dear gawds, what kind of a human would support this guy? Truly."

Another viewer said, "MAGA still claim the "Suckers and Losers" comment was a lie. They ignore all facts, truth and data. John Kelly, a Gold Star Father himself confirmed it. We need ALL the top Military & Appointees to come forward and tell their truth. People need to know!"

One viewer noted, "Trump cares nothing for our brave troops; never forget."

A follower observed, "His disrespect is seared into my memory. Anyone voting for such a egotistical, cruel, and clueless individual shares his lack of compassion and is just as devoid of character."

One comment read, "I wish every network and print media would share this today. He is evil."

Another comment read, "He disgusts me to no end!!!"

"A total disgrace to all who have and are serving our country to protect our precious democracy," explained one person.
