MANHATTAN, NEW YORK CITY: 'The Daily Show' host Michael Kosta condemned Donald Trump's recent false assertion that the FBI had been given permission to assassinate him while searching his Mar-a-Lago estate in August 2022.

Reportedly, the search was conducted to retrieve classified documents that Trump had refused to return to the National Archives after leaving the White House.

Earlier this week, the Republican presidential candidate raised the complaint, seemingly influenced by Georgia GOP congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene, that the FBI had been authorized to use "lethal force" during the execution of the search warrant on his property.

FBI clarifies Trump's 'unconstitutional raid' claim

Trump declared on Truth Social, writing, “WOW! I just came out of the Biden Witch Hunt Trial in Manhattan, the ‘Icebox,’ and was shown Reports that Crooked Joe Biden’s DOJ, in their Illegal and UnConstitutional Raid of Mar-a-Lago, AUTHORIZED THE FBI TO USE DEADLY (LETHAL) FORCE." [sic]

“NOW WE KNOW, FOR SURE, THAT JOE BIDEN IS A SERIOUS THREAT TO DEMOCRACY. HE IS MENTALLY UNFIT TO HOLD OFFICE – 25TH AMENDMENT,” Trump added in his social media post.

The FBI has firmly denied Donald Trump's claim that the FBI was authorized to use deadly force during the search of his Mar-a-Lago residence in August 2022.

As per Newsweek, in a statement, the FBI clarified, "The FBI followed standard protocol in this search as we do for all search warrants, which includes a standard policy statement limiting the use of deadly force."

"No one ordered additional steps to be taken and there was no departure from the norm in this matter," they further stated.

Michael Kosta shows live reporting from 'Trump assassination room'

In his commentary, late-night comedian Michael Kosta recapped the television news coverage of Donald Trump's false claim, remarking, “Holy s***! ‘Locked and loaded'? ‘Ready to take me out’? I’ve never heard Joe Biden sound so f***ing cool in my life!”

Kosta continued, “I’ve always thought of [Joe] Biden as a doddering old man but Donald Trump makes him look like one of The Expendables: ‘The rest of you take what you want, but leave the orange man to me.' Can you tape Wheel of Fortune? This might take a while…”

In his comedic commentary, Michael Kosta expressed skepticism about the possibility of assassinating Donald Trump, joking that it would be difficult because "he would never get within range of a book depository."

This quip referenced the assassination of President John F Kennedy, which was carried out from a book depository in Dallas.

Kosta also questioned the sincerity of Trump's concern, noting that the Republican candidate had already begun sending fundraising emails to his supporters, capitalizing on the controversy.

The comedian remarked, "If you're dodging bullets, you don't stop to wave your Venmo QR code."

In a comedic twist, Kosta cut to a segment featuring correspondent Josh Johnson, who claimed to be reporting live from the fictional "Trump Assassination Room" of the Biden campaign.

Johnson jokingly asserted, "Trump is 100 percent correct. Biden has been trying to take him out for years," making whooshing sounds and vocal effects.
