WASHINGTON, DC: What was supposed to be a solemn Easter moment at the White House turned into a viral episode — all thanks to President Donald Trump’s reaction during a prayer from evangelist Franklin Graham.

It all went down on Wednesday, April 16, when Graham showed up to bless the Trump administration and its guests with an Easter prayer, OK! Magazine reported.

“There’s been a spiritual drought in this city for the past few years,” Graham said. “And so I’m very grateful for the Easter declaration you put out.”

Graham began the actual prayer, “Our Father and our God, we come tonight to say Thank You. Thank You for sending Your Son Jesus Christ to this Earth to take our sins."

However, all eyes weren't on the reverend. They were on Donald Trump, who looked like he’d rather be anywhere else. The president appeared totally disconnected, barely engaging with what was meant to be a moment of reverence.

Naturally, his critics on social media clocked it immediately.

“Trump’s glare during the prayer shows he can’t even pretend to care about faith. Faking Christianity isn’t fooling anyone, just another act in his political circus,” one X user fired off.

"Good. I hope he has to sit through prayers every day with the people he's grifting off. I don't know why they can't see he doesn't care about them," another wrote.

Graham eventually got to the core of his Easter message. “And Father, we know that if we confess our sins and repent and believe on the Name of Your Son the Lord Jesus Christ, we shall be saved,” he prayed.

Meanwhile, Trump was scanning the room like someone trapped in a meeting that went three hours too long. People online weren’t shy about reading into it.

“It makes him question the prayer. His mind immediately thought, ‘Is he talking about me?’” one user joked.

"Kind of a long prayer. I’m a short prayer guy. Like a good short prayer. It’s less words. You don’t want too many words. Too many words is not so good. I like less words but lots of prayer. I love my Jesus, but even he didn’t really like words. Not a word guy,” someone quipped, imagining a classic Trumpian rant.

"Trump treats prayer like jury duty, uninterested, annoyed, and wondering when he can lie his way out. This also looks like he may have had a full diaper in the moment and needed to leave," a comment read.

"If this was a horror movie about the antichrist, the script would be right on point," another chimed in.

Donald Trump’s turn at the pulpit

President Donald Trump did eventually speak after Graham’s prayer, offering an Easter reflection of his own.

“Nearly 2,000 years ago, during this sacred week, the living Son of God entered Jerusalem in triumph,” Trump said. “Soon after, the Savior of mankind, who brought truth and light into the world, was betrayed, arrested, and tried, beaten, and nailed to a cross, and crucified.”

He also referenced the legendary preacher Billy Graham, Franklin’s father.

“For our sake, He gave up His life, and as the very great Rev Billy Graham once said, ‘God proved His love on the cross.’ When Christ hung, and bled, and died, it was God saying to the world, ‘I love you,’” Trump added.
