WASHINGTON, DC: President Donald Trump, 79, hinted at the possibility of a third term in a video posted to Truth Social on Sunday, October 19.
In the short clip, Trump said, “I’d like to run,” showing himself as a leader extending well past the traditional end of a presidential term in 2028. The video circulated widely, appearing to respond to recent “No Kings” protests that criticized extended or indefinite leadership.

Donald Trump shares provocative Truth Social video suggesting endless presidency
The 30-second video followed an earlier AI-generated clip depicting Trump pouring brown liquid over demonstrators at a “No Kings” rally. Both posts drew attention for their unusual and provocative imagery.
Trump’s new clip revisited a TIME magazine feature exploring ‘Trumpism.’ The doctored video labeled magazine issues with years spanning Trump’s potential future campaigns: “Trump 2024,” “Trump 2028,” then extending to “Trump 2032,” “Trump 2036,” “Trump 2040,” “Trump 2044,” “Trump 2048,” and ultimately “Trump 90,000,” suggesting almost mythical, eternal leadership.

The 1875 classical composition In the Hall of the Mountain King by Edvard Grieg played in the background, adding a theatrical tone. As the clip neared its end, the number hit 90,000, transitioning to “EEEEEE” and “4EVA.”
Donald Trump hints at additional four years citing strong polls and trade wins
Trump energized the MAGA base by defending his global trade policies and controversial decisions.
“I’d like to run, I have the best poll numbers I’ve ever had,” Trump said. “You know why? Because people love the tariffs, and they love that foreign countries aren’t ripping us off anymore. For years they ripped us off, friend and foe,” he continued.

This was not the first time Trump hinted at a third term, which is prohibited under the U.S. Constitution. In May, he told NBC News, “a lot of people want me to do it,” referring to supporters and allies.
Trump biographer Michael Wolff told the 'Inside Trump’s Head' podcast that the president would do whatever necessary to retain power. “The problem with this is that an authoritarian breaks so many rules and makes so many enemies that in order to avoid retribution, he has to stay in power. That is the nature of the game that is being played,” Wolff said.
