WASHINGTON, DC: President Donald Trump took jabs at Politico's White House Bureau Chief Dasha Burns and lashed out at the outlet, calling it "fake news" and claiming it has been "so wrong about everything."

The Republican leader made the comments on Sunday, October 12, while speaking with reporters aboard Air Force One on his way to Israel.

Trump says 'Politico's gone bad'

A clip that has gone viral across social media shows Donald Trump taking questions from reporters aboard Air Force One when Dasha Burns tried to ask him something.

"Wow, she asks a lot of questions," Trump remarked, before asking, "Who are you with?"

"Politico, Dasha Burns," the reporter replied.

Following this, the POTUS said, "Dasha, Politico, oh. Politico's gone bad. They've been so wrong about everything! No, no."

"Politico's been so wrong about everything. Let's get somebody else to ask some questions, you mind? Because Politico is fake news," he added.

Last month, Trump took a jab at another media outlet, CNN, while taking questions from reporters at the Oval Office.

He called on Yunus Paksoy, a reporter for CNN’s Turkish affiliate, CNN Türk. When he heard the network’s name, the POTUS couldn’t resist and said, "CNN fake news."

During the interaction, Paksoy asked about the Barack Obama-era decision not to sell Patriot missile defense systems to Turkey and how Trump might reverse what he described as "stupidity."

Before answering, the president joked, "CNN? Wow, because you sounded like a nice guy. CNN is fake news. But you sound like the real deal to me, so I’ll answer the question."

Trump's earlier jab at Politico

This is not the first time Donald Trump has aimed at Politico. In February, the 79-year-old lambasted Politico after it was revealed that the outlet received more than $8 million in government funding for subscriptions and other contracts.

Calling the outlet a "left-wing rag," the POTUS claimed Politico was part of a larger "fake news" scam that had "stolen" money from agencies like the US Agency for International Development (USAID).

"Looks like billions of dollars have been stolen at USAID, and other agencies, much of it going to the fake news media as a ‘pay off’ for creating good stories about the Democrats," Trump wrote in a Truth Social post.

"The left-wing 'rag', known as 'Politico', seems to have received $8,000,000. Did the New York Times receive money??? Who else did??? This could be the biggest scandal of them all, perhaps the biggest in history! The Democrats can't hide from this one. Too big, too dirty!" he added.

Trump made the post just hours after he said CBS News' editing of Kamala Harris' '60 Minutes' interview was the "biggest broadcasting scandal in history."
