WASHINGTON, DC: President Donald Trump reignited his decades-long rivalry with actress and comedian Rosie O’Donnell, claiming he is “seriously” considering revoking her US citizenship.

This is not the first time Trump has made such remarks. In July, he suggested that O’Donnell posed a “threat to humanity” and was not acting “in the best interests of our Great Country.”

Trump says Rosie O'Donnell is incapable of being a 'great American'

“As previously mentioned, we are giving serious thought to taking away Rosie O’Donnell’s Citizenship. She is not a Great American and is, in my opinion, incapable of being so!” Donald Trump posted on his Truth Social platform on Wednesday, September 3.

O’Donnell, who was born in Commack, New York, and therefore automatically protected under the 14th Amendment, has repeatedly dismissed Trump’s threats. The Constitution does not permit a president to strip a US-born citizen of their nationality.

In July, she fired back with a pointed reference to 'Game of Thrones', calling Trump “King Joffrey with a tangerine spray tan” and declaring, “I’m not yours to silence I never was.”

Earlier this year, O’Donnell moved to Ireland with her daughter and began the process of obtaining Irish citizenship, citing Trump’s reelection and what she described as a hostile political climate in the United States. In a TikTok post, she explained, "When it is safe for all citizens to have equal rights there in America, that’s when we will consider coming back."

During the Irish prime minister's White House visit in March, Trump interrupted a question from a reporter about O’Donnell’s move, remarking, "Do you know who she is? You’re better off not knowing."

Most recently, O’Donnell faced backlash after she posted a video blaming the Minneapolis Catholic school shooting on MAGA supporters, Republicans, and white supremacists. When it turned out her claims were inaccurate, she deleted the video and issued a public apology.

"I did not do my due diligence before I made that emotional statement," she admitted, acknowledging her mistake and offering what she called her "apology video."

Internet reacts as Trump trolls Rosie O’Donnell

Donald Trump’s latest jab at longtime rival Rosie O’Donnell sparked a flurry of online reactions as he said he was “giving serious thought” to stripping her of US citizenship.

One user demanded, “Revoke her citizenship immediately. She’s no American. She’s a treasonous traitor.”

Another admitted, “I had to do a double take to make sure this isn’t a parody account.”

Some hailed it as classic Trump humor: “The GOAT of trolling at his best!” one wrote. Another added, “Incredible things happening at the White House.”

Others kept it lighthearted, with one writing, “That’s too funny,” while another noted, “Democrats have been having fun with all the Gavin jokes—let’s see how many laugh at this one.”
