Trump yells 'Your taxes are coming down!' to golfers during day out with granddaughter Kai

WASHINGTON, DC: Donald Trump’s latest golf game with his granddaughter came with a few campaign-style punchlines.
The president was spotted cruising around one of his golf courses with his granddaughter, Kai Trump, in tow, looking relaxed and very much in grandpa mode.
Trump's golf day with granddaughter Kai Trump
In a one-hour vlog posted by 18-year-old Kai on her YouTube channel titled “Playing Golf with President Donald Trump (My Grandpa),” the duo shared plenty of laughs and sweet moments.
Kai kicked things off with a warm introduction: “Most people know him as the 45th and 47th President... but to me, he is just my grandpa. This is a really special video, and I hope you guys enjoy," she began.
As the video rolled, the pair were seen riding in a golf cart together. Trump sported his trademark red MAGA hat, while Kai dressed for the fairway as the two chatted like it was a family weekend outing. “Is there a dream that you’re still trying to chase? Or have you reached all your dreams?” Kai asked her grandfather.
Trump laughed and responded, “You’re asking questions like you’re a television company. I thought I was just going to come out and play a round of golf with you.” When Kai said she just wanted to know, Trump quipped once again, “You’re asking questions like I’m on television.” Eventually, he gave his answer: “Yeah, no, look, you become president. That’s the dream, right?” he said.

Kai nodded and said, “Yeah.” Trump added, “Now what you can do is that you can dream of becoming a great president.” “Right. I think you’re doing a pretty good job," the doting granddaughter responded.

As the pair rolled along the course, Trump waved to several golfers who shouted greetings like, “Hey, how are you?” The president flashed a smile and replied, “Thank you, everybody.” He added, “Your taxes are coming down!”
Kai burst out laughing as Trump turned to her and said, “Everyone’s happy, honey.” She chimed in, “That’s awesome.” Trump nodded and smiled, “We’ve done a good job.”

Trump discusses security and ‘close calls’ with Kai during golf outing
Kai’s vlog also captured the surreal level of presidential security that surrounds her grandfather. At one point, she marveled at the quiet, stoic agents stationed around the course.
“Look at these guys,” Trump said as they cruised past. Kai asked if the agents were even allowed to talk back. Trump explained, “They don’t respond. They sort of are supposed to focus on what they are doing, which is keeping us safe, right?”

Later, as they drove past a long line of agents guarding the path between holes, Kai joked that her grandfather had had some “lucky escapes,” hinting at the assassination attempts he’s faced.
Trump was infamously shot at a Pennsylvania rally in July 2024, just months before the election. Another would-be assassin, Ryan Routh, was caught hiding in the bushes near Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach later that year.
“Wow, they make sure the security is all down the line,” Kai said. “You’ve had too many close calls!” Trump chuckled and agreed, “I had too many close calls, that’s true, honey.”
Trump says he’s enjoying second term
Trump lit up when Kai asked how he was enjoying his second act as president. “It has been great, I’ve had a good time,” he said. “I’ve stopped seven wars. Seven. Hopefully, we get Putin and Zelensky to stop killing everybody. It has been very good, the economy has been great.”

Since then, Trump has claimed that the number has climbed to eight after helping broker a peace deal between Israel and Hamas. Furthermore, if his plans for Ukraine and Russia come through, that would make nine by his count.
