PHOENIX, ARIZONA: Arizona's Democratic Governor Katie Hobbs has rebuked the Biden administration of inaction on migration as she sent National Guard soldiers to the state's southern border with Mexico to manage the crisis, reported Newsmax.

Hobbs issued an executive order on December 15 ordering the AZ National Guard to the border, where she criticized the government under Joe Biden, saying, "The federal government is refusing to do its job to secure our border and keep our communities safe."

She released the statement a week after she sent a joint letter to the White House with the state's two senators, Democrat Mark Kelly and independent Kyrsten Sinema, to take action after the border officials closed a remote Arizona crossing, Lukeville Port of Entry on December 4 due to overwhelming migrant arrivals.

Katie Hobbs accuses Joe Biden's administration of 'federal inaction'

"I am taking action where the federal government won't," said the Democratic Governor in her executive order.

She blamed the Biden government for inaction in managing the migrant crisis, saying, "For far too long, Arizona has borne the burden of federal inaction in managing the State's southern border."

She added, "The federal government's recent decision to close the Lukeville Port of Entry has led to an unmitigated humanitarian crisis in the area and has put Arizona's safety and commerce at risk."

Arizona is a crucial target for Republicans in the upcoming election, and Hobbs tried to mitigate the border crisis by seeking Biden's help.

However, the lack of response from DC forced her to take matters into her own hands.

"Despite continued requests for assistance, the Biden administration has refused to deliver desperately needed resources to Arizona's border," she stated.

Migration is becoming a hot topic of the 2024 presidential election, with Donald Trump vowing to take extreme measures if he wins and Biden trying to balance the issue, appeasing the public and the left of his party.

In the latest development, Texas Senator Ted Cruz also blamed the left of the Democratic party, who works for an open border policy, and alleged that they believe America's existence is "fundamentally illegitimate."

Internet slams Katie Hobbs

Netizens are outraged as they criticize Hobbs for being late to take action. Many pointed out that the current development is only because of the upcoming election.

One user said, "Corruption governor and liar!"

Another user said, "Poll #s on how Arizona voters feel about this invasion must’ve been twice what she thought. Purely defensive move for self-preservation."

"She's only doing it bcs the backlash," remarked another user.

A user added, "Oh the irony just before the elections."

"Trying to save her job," read another reaction.

Another questioned, "Whatever....she is just trying to score political points because she knows everyone hates her. Where was she 3 years ago?"
