WASHINGTON, DC: President Donald Trump on Sunday, February 8, issued a formal message for Super Bowl LX, calling the championship a "uniquely American tradition" that reflects the American journey during the nation's 250th anniversary year.

Trump extended his best wishes and praised the New England Patriots and the Seattle Seahawks for their hard work and noted that the entire nation joins together to watch these two teams compete.

Trump sees football as a mirror of the American journey

In his message, Trump explained that the history of football is very similar to the history of the United States itself. He pointed out that the sport became popular as America became an industrial power, growing in small towns and cities alike.

He stated that "as our country’s economy expanded, the game grew along with our Nation’s prosperity."

According to the POTUS, the sport succeeded because it focused on the same "values of grit, tenacity, and discipline that defined the American worker" throughout the early twentieth century.

He noted that as technology brought people closer together, "football entered households everywhere, turning Sundays into traditions shared across generations."

Trump remembers the patriots who secured independence through courage and sacrifice

The timing of Super Bowl LX carries significant weight as the country prepares to mark 250 years of independence.

Trump called on Americans to remember the "patriots who secured our independence 250 years ago through courage, sacrifice, and an unwavering belief in the cause of liberty."

He linked the bravery of the founding generation to the modern men and women of the Armed Forces who continue to defend the American way of life.

According to him, their service ensures the "blessing to live in the strongest and freest Nation the world has ever known."
