BOISE, IDAHO: A candlelight vigil for Charlie Kirk descended into chaos on Thursday night, September 11, when a street brawl erupted in front of the Idaho State Capitol — just one day after the conservative firebrand and Turning Point USA founder was shot and killed at Utah Valley University.

It began when a man in a white T-shirt and rainbow-colored backpack rode up on a Lime bike and shouted, “F**k Charlie Kirk” into the grieving crowd, instantly triggering outrage.

Cops later identified the instigator as 41-year-old Terry Wilson, a local Black Lives Matter activist, according to KIVI.

Things escalated quickly. Fifty-one-year-old Alfonso Ayala confronted Wilson, leading to a shouting match that exploded into fists. Video shows the pair trading blows as some in the crowd chanted “USA! USA!” while others begged them to stop.

Wilson hit the pavement, was kicked and punched, then jumped back up swinging. The chaos kept rolling until police and bystanders finally broke it up.

Wilson then stormed across the street, cursing at the crowd and yelling about “free speech.” One fed-up woman shouted back, “Get out of here!”

Terry Wilson and Alfonso Ayala arrested

Both Wilson and Ayala were arrested on the spot, KIVI reported.

While hauling Wilson in, officers say they discovered he had a firearm tucked away along with marijuana. He was charged with misdemeanor counts of disturbing the peace, carrying a concealed weapon while under the influence, and possession of marijuana.

Wilson was treated at a hospital before being booked into the Ada County Jail.

Ayala was also booked into the county jail on a misdemeanor disturbing-the-peace charge, the outlet reported.

The Boise Police Department promised extra security for upcoming 9/11 and vigil events.

“Today, as our community gathers for 9/11 remembrance events, other activities, and candlelight vigils, the Boise Police Department will maintain a strong and visible presence,” BPD said in a statement. “In light of the events in Utah and the assassination of Charlie Kirk, our officers are actively working with event organizers to ensure safe and secure environments for everyone attending. Public safety remains our top priority.”

Wilson had a history of run-ins with the law. In 2021, he made headlines for defacing Boise’s “Seated Lincoln” statue in Julia Davis Park. According to KIVI, he smeared it with paint and feces and placed makeshift signs on it. A judge sentenced him to 32 hours of community service and fined him $91.96 in restitution.

Videos captured his harrowing final moments: Kirk clutching his throat before collapsing as horrified attendees screamed.

Witnesses said he was in the middle of answering a question about gun violence when the assassin struck.

The shooter, identified as 22-year-old Tyler Robinson, is believed to have fired from the roof of a campus building. Police later found a high-powered bolt-action rifle in nearby woods. With the FBI joining the manhunt, Robinson was arrested a few days later.
