CHICAGO, ILLINOIS: Conservative commentator Charlie Kirk's arrival at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago quickly escalated into a heated altercation, underscoring the deep political divisions in America.

Kirk, the 29-year-old founder and executive director of the conservative youth organization Turning Point USA, engaged in a tense exchange with Parker Short, the prominent president of the Young Democrats of Georgia, an encounter that quickly gained traction on social media.

The confrontation occurred just inside the United Center, the DNC venue from August 19 to 22, and was captured on video and widely shared on social media. The footage shows Short approaching Kirk to question him about former president Donald Trump's election results in Georgia, Newsweek reported.

Kirk subsequently shared the video on X (previously known as Twitter), accompanying it with the remark: "Within 30 seconds of walking into the United Center, I was confronted by this guy. Apparently he's the President of the Young Democrats of Georgia?"

Known for his provocative style and unwavering support for Trump, Kirk quickly turned the tables on Short by challenging him to "define what a woman is"—a question that has become a flashpoint in debates over gender identity and transgender rights.

The conversation swiftly deteriorated, with Short calling Kirk "unpatriotic" and "weird" before walking away.

Turning Point USA, founded by Kirk in 2012, is known as the largest and fastest-growing conservative youth activist organization in the country.

The organization's stated mission is to identify, educate, train, and mobilize students to champion the principles of freedom, free markets, and limited government.

Internet mocks Charlie Kirk

Once the video appeared on social media, users criticized Kirk for sharing it to mock Short. A user wrote, "He embarrassed you so now you’re just calling on your followers to make fun of him."

Another added, "He made you look like a weirdo, Charlie."

A third commentator trolled saying, "Charlie you got cooked."

"Why would you post this, Chuck? He made you look ridiculous and he didn’t even hand you a mirror," one remarked.

A person shared a hilarious GIF featuring a woman running with the text "RUN GIRL" and an accompanying caption, "Yeah he made Charlie run from his question like a scared coward.....Oh wait!!!"

An X user mocked Kirk, "Haha he bailed out on that tough question."

Another user added, "Oh babydoll I’m so sorry he cooked you I fear."
