WASHINGTON, DC: Former president Donald Trump video praising Lt Governor, Mark Robinson has resurfaced amid new scandal.

Robinson, known for his polarizing statements, has been a prominent figure in US politics who is in the race for North Carolina governor.



 

When did Donald Trump call Mark Robinson 'Martin Luther King on steroids'?

It was at the North Carolina rally in March that Donald Trump expressed admiration for Mark Robinson, telling the crowd, “This is Martin Luther King on steroids,” reffering to Robinson.

“I told that to Mark. I said, I think you’re better than Martin Luther King. I think you are Martin Luther King times two,” said Trump at the time, MEDIAITE noted.

Mark Robinson, currently serving as North Carolina's lieutenant governor, has previously faced backlash over his controversial remarks. Now, a new scandal has emerged, as CNN’s K-File published messages Robinson allegedly wrote in an explicit online forum under the username ‘minisoldr.’

Mark Robinson denies writing controversial messages 

According to CNN, Mark Robinson’s reportedly referred to himself as a “Black NAZI” and expressed support for the reinstatement of slavery.

The messages were traced back to Robinson through biographical details and a shared email address.

One particularly shocking comment read, “Slavery is not bad. Some people need to be slaves. I wish they would bring it back. I would certainly buy a few,” Mark Robinson allegedly wrote in the forum.

Another message, according to CNN, stated, “I’d take Hitler over any of the sh*t that’s in Washington right now!”

Mark Robinson has denied making these comments, responding in a video posted on X (formerly Twitter), saying, “Let me assure you, the things you will see in that story, those are not the words of Mark Robinson."



 

Internet reacts to Donald Trump’s praise for Mark Robinson amid scandal

In the wake of the CNN report, Donald Trump's video praising Mark Robinson has rsurfaced with Kamala Harris campaign posting it on X handle.

One user on X responded to Kamala Harris’ campaign post, writing, "Mark Robinson, a self-proclaimed ‘Black Nazi,’ is the anti-MLK."

Another added, "Trump mentions MLK whenever someone is black because that's the only thing he has besides racial slurs and stereotypes," noted the user.

Other users criticized Trump, saying “Trump is done. The American people want Kamala Harris to move us forward.”

Another commented, “Tomorrow he will say he never heard of him!” referring to Trump potentially distancing himself from Robinson amid the report.

One more reaction read, "MLK would be so sad to see this sh*t show."

Despite the controversy, Mark Robinson remains defiant in his race for political office.

“We are staying in this race. We are in it to win it,” Mark Robinson said in his video response, standing firm against the allegations.
