GEORGETOWN, TEXAS: Ted Cruz shared his take on Kamala Harris’ speech at the Democratic National Convention during his Georgetown campaign trail.

The Texas Senator, in a social media post, called the Democratic presidential candidate's address “vapid, radical, disconnected from reality, and dangerous as hell.”

Ted Cruz begins his Texas tour with Georgetown

On Friday, August 23, Ted Cruz kicked off his Keep Texas, Texas Tour, where he will be making six stops and reaching out to the conservative base.

“Texas is a battleground, there’s no doubt Texas is a battleground,” Cruz said.

Showing confidence in his voters against Democrats, he added, “It’s not going to work. Take a look at a morning like this, 9 a.m. in Williamson County. The folks that are coming out, they are energized, they are empowered, they defend Texas, they want to keep Texas ‘Texas’…I’m confident that’s how Texas is going to vote in November.”

Cruz is being challenged by Democratic candidate Colin Allred, who made his first big stage speech at the DNC.

“I’m the guy who’s going to turn Texas’ Senate seat blue,” Allred said, reported KXAN.

He continued, “We will protect and restore reproductive freedom, we will secure the border, we will protect Medicare and Social Security, and we’ll turn the page and write a new chapter for this country — elect Kamala Harris to be the next president and beat Ted Cruz.”

Soon the crowd in the Chicago DNC arena started chanting “beat Ted Cruz” as he stepped down from the stage.

Internet trolls Ted Cruz for taking a swipe at Kamala Harris' DNC speech

Netizens pulled up Ted Cruz for slamming Kamala Harris' DNC address and questioned his chances at upcoming elections. The senator from Texas is looking to secure his third term this November.

A user commented on X (formerly Twitter) over Cruz's attack on Harris, "Imagine how awesome Texas could be with empathetic leadership." Another trolled Cruz, "She was fabulous—and you know it. She is exactly what this country needs."

"What speech were you listening to? I’ve listened to her speech several times and it’s none of those things!" said one. "My poor basement dweller cruz. My Texas is voting you out. Enjoy your last few days as a Senator," slammed someone else.

A person felt, "Lying Ted’s response to Kamala Harris's speech is orotund, predictable, disconnected from factuality, and just plain facetious as hell." Another joined, "You would know vapid and disconnected from reality. You have no idea what Texans or Americans want."
