PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA: A group of pro-Iran protesters in Philadelphia is facing significant criticism after a video showed them chanting support for hostile groups and appearing to celebrate the deaths of US soldiers.

The video features a masked speaker leading chants at a public protest. The demonstration is part of a broader wave of protests linked to ongoing tensions involving Iran and US military action in the region.

Protesters are seen cheering as a masked ringleader celebrates the deaths of US service members in new footage, then calls for Hamas rockets to explode in American homes.

“For every US soldier that returns home in a casket, we cheer,” the provocateur shouted outside Philadelphia City Hall, according to footage filmed by local conservative activist Frankie Scales.

“Until we have done everything in our power to bring the United States to its knees, let us not lose sight of the enemy,” the man yelled, with the crowd cheering loudly at each hateful invocation.

The masked, hooded ringleader referred to Hamas and Hezbollah as “resistance forces” and “popular forces,” then urged the Iranian regime to stay in power so it could continue supporting the groups.

“They rely on a strong Iranian state to maintain their fighting capacity,” the man said.

Reports state that a masked and hooded speaker at the protest addressed the crowd and spoke about armed groups that support Iran.

The person requested help for what they referred to as "resistance forces" and led chants opposing the United States.

The video shows people in a public place, some holding signs and others chanting together. Comments about US soldiers were among the most discussed parts of the video on social media.

Protest tied to wider Iran conflict demonstrations

When Scales confronted the protest leader, he responded, “May a Hamas rocket blow up your family’s home.”

US Senator John Fetterman (D-Pa) reposted the alarming clip, and called on his fellow Democrats to condemn the behavior.

“Here in Philadelphia. Truly appalling. These a–holes chanting for the death of our service members,” Fetterman wrote on X.

“Where’s the Dem outrage and condemnation?”

The current wave of protests follows recent military developments involving the United States and Iran, which have heightened tensions across the region.

Demonstrations have varied in tone, with some calling to end military action and others expressing direct support for Iran.
