Wendy Williams amassed fortune running into millions before legal guardian took over her finances
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Wendy Williams amassed an impressive fortune - eight figures to be more precise - before the court-appointed guardian took control over her finances.
An insider with direct knowledge about Wendy’s finances recently spoke to RadarOnline and dished out that the former talk show host reportedly had a fortune running into eight figures.
‘The Wendy Willaims Show’ host’s money was allegedly spread over a dozen accounts in Wells Fargo bank.
However, in 2022, as the bank froze the 59-year-old media personality’s accounts and filed a petition to put her under temporary guardianship, Wendy lost her financial independence.
After filing a petition with the New York Supreme Court, the bank claimed the former radio jockey had been a "victim of undue influence and financial exploitation.” Wendy - who has recently been diagnosed with aphasia and frontotemporal dementia - has since been placed under financial guardianship.
Insiders claim lawyers now control Wendy Williams’s life
The insider recently shared with the news outlet that the TV host, who used to earn $10 million per year for her ‘The Wendy Williams Show’, is now reportedly getting controlled by a group of lawyers.
The source claimed that Wendy’s daily life is now controlled by a team of lawyers, court evaluators, and specialists, who allegedly draw salaries from Wendy’s hard-earned money.
"You have now five attorneys who Wendy did not select and who Wendy has nothing to do with that are all getting paid out of Wendy's finances," alleged the source.
The claims were further reinforced by Wendy’s former lawyer LaShawn Thomas, who also questioned the move.
Thomas recently said, “I find it curious that the court-appointed guardian keeps her family away from Wendy,” per OK! Magazine.
Referring to the court-appointed guardian Sabrina Morrissey, Thomas added, “But then [Morrissey] allows a manager and a publicist to be around her, so they are getting paid money from Wendy’s accounts.”
Of late, the former daytime TV star was charged with a $568,000 federal tax lien which made her loved ones even curious about the role of the court-appointed guardian.
The insider recently told RadarOnline, "There is a tax lien on Wendy’s property so what the heck is the guardian doing?” before adding, “Where is the accountant and why aren’t they doing their job!?”
Wendy Williams said she had no money in Lifetime documentary
Toward the end of February, Lifetime released a four-part documentary on Wendy’s life that also highlighted her financial owes.
The documentary that showed the talk show host’s health struggles also focused on her financial situation.
At one point in the show, Wendy was seen in a conversation with her niece Alex Finnie. As Finnie said there have been "random people around,” Wendy replied, “Stealing money from me.”
Williams further shared, “I have no money. And let me tell you something, if it happens to me, it can happen to you.”
