One of the major revelations during Sunday’s documentary episode came from DJ Boof, who used to spin music on 'The Wendy Williams Show’.

The 39-year-old revealed that following Wendy’s divorce in 2020, the musician became the media personality’s “protector," per OK! Magazine.

During the COVID-19 lockdown, Wendy released a few episodes from her New York City apartment with the help of DJ Boof.

The musician recalled that while he used to hold up cue cards for her, he noticed Wendy too often showed “no emotion” at all.

He then revealed, "This is not COVID doing this," before adding, "[It's the] damage of using alcohol for so long … I got to see the lowest of lows.”

He further shared that in May 2020, he found his former boss unresponsive in her NYC apartment and quickly took her to the hospital.

He shared heartbreakingly, "She just wasn’t the same person anymore.”

In the same episode, Wendy shared that she loves vodka as a clipping showed her saying, "I love vodka,” before adding that her sister Wanda Finnie "hates that I love alcohol" and her son, Kevin Hunter Jr, 23, "hates liquor."

Wendy Williams's struggle with alcoholism

Wendy's admission that she loves vodka comes just after the documentary showed her consuming one whole bottle of vodka, in the first episode.

In the first episode, Wendy was also confronted by her manager Will Selby for downing the bottle of vodka, per Daily Mail.

Selby confronted her and said, “So, did you eat something, or did you have a liquid lunch? Because I came into your room, and all of a sudden, out of nowhere, I happen to notice one of your specialty items. Did you drink this whole thing today?”

Williams was seen replying “Yes,” before quickly changing her response to a curt “no.” As Selby said, “I don't know if you need this right now,” Wendy vehemently protested, “I'm not drunk!”

Her manager continued, “I never said you was drunk, but I just don't know if this is a good idea,” and noted, “So, you think you're perfectly fine having as many drinks as you want?” to which Williams replied, “Perfectly,” before using the expletive, “F**k you!”

Selby later shared during a confessional, “I don't know how much alcohol she consumes, but I threw the damn liquor away. And I'm just gonna be honest with you. I don't know if it's gonna stop her," before adding helplessly, “I never feel powerless, but I do feel like I just need help because I can't do this alone. I would be lying to you if I would think that I could conquer alcoholism alone.”

During the same episode, Williams declared that she was not planning to stop drinking and said passionately, “Will [Selby] drinks. We all drink. Why can't I?”

She later stated to her publicist Shawn Zanotti, who was with her at the time, “I will smoke when I smoke and I will liquor when I liquor."

Her passionate outburst continued as she said, “How dare him,” before adding decisively, “I control me.”
