Wendy Williams received $400K for documentary dubbed ‘demeaning’ and ‘humiliating’ by her guardian
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Wendy Williams reportedly made a lot of money by featuring in the controversial documentary ‘Where Is Wendy Williams?’
The unsealed documents of the lawsuit filed by Williams’ guardian disclosed that she received $100,000 for a single episode for the four-part Lifetime series, making it a total of $400,000, The Sun reported.
Wendy Williams received $100,000 per episode
The publication citing the contract signed by the troubled talk show for the documentary reported, “The following fees shall be payable to Artist. In the aggregate sum of $100,000 per regular original episode of the initial cycle of the series for which artists recognizably appear.”
Besides, the contract mentioned two-way business class air tickets, one suite, along with two standard hotel rooms if the filming required her to travel over 100 miles from her location.

The papers were released on Thursday, March 14, after the 59-year-old media personality’s court-appointed guardian, attorney Sabrina Morrissey, filed the suit last month in an order to ban the airing of the show.
Wendy Williams’ guardian calls out documentary makers
Morrissey in her complaint noted, “She was not, and is not, capable of consenting to the terms of the documentary Contract. And no one acting in [Wendy's] best interest would allow her to be portrayed in the demeaning manner in which she is portrayed in the Trailer for the documentary.”
The lawyer dubbed the documentary “humiliating” and “demeaning” and alleged that it’s “unconscionably exploiting [Wendy's] condition, and perhaps even disclosing her personal and private medical diagnosis, for perceived ‘entertainment value’ and the prurient interest of television viewers.”
“This blatant exploitation of a vulnerable woman with a serious medical condition who is beloved by millions within and outside the African American community is disgusting and it cannot be allowed,” she stated.
Morrissey also accused the makers of presenting Williams “in an extremely demeaning and undignified manner, incorrectly states that she is 'broke,' and cruelly implies that her disoriented demeanor is due to substance abuse and intoxication.”

Internet rallies behind Wendy Williams
Meanwhile, people have reacted to the new revelation and a person writing below a Daily Mail article said, “Well she definitely needs it. But the lengths she had to go to get money is sad. That first scene, the taking off the wig, and the memory lapses like not recognizing her own brother were hard to watch.”
Another person wrote, “I'm glad someone is trying to protect her, especially from her son and ex. No one deserves this!”
“But how much of that $ will be stolen from her by the people around her and her son? Keep the appointed attorney in place or they will steal it all too. Her son is the worst. His defense for taking 100,000 from her was she said I could have it. Unfortunately, he will get it someday, but he doesn’t deserve it any more than the others,” the third one shared.
The fourth one commented, “For someone who was making 8 figures a year during the height of her show, 400k isn’t a big deal. For the person who got the money? I’m sure it was a lot to them.”
The fifth one added, “No amount of money is worth your dignity!”
A comment read, “Considering what she made during her show, I don’t see 400k as being whopping or staggering. I think it’s sad. Revealing the state of her should have been worth more.”
