WASHINGTON, DC: The White House criticized CNN for openly refusing to air President Donald Trump’s landmark economic address during his November 5, 2025 speech at the America Business Forum in Miami.

Trump marked the one-year anniversary of his historic election victory by delivering remarks to business leaders and patriotic Americans who filled the room.

The White House press secretary wrote, “President Trump is giving a major economic speech and CNN is not covering it live.”

During the speech, Trump discussed how his administration is creating strong economic growth. “Our opponents are offering an economic nightmare we're delivering an economic miracle. We have delivered in nine months this is the biggest investment of funds in a country and history by many times. That's good,” he said, drawing applause from the audience.

He contrasted his priorities with those of his opponents. “They want higher spending for government, and illegal aliens. We want bigger paychecks for American workers and American families, and that what we're delivering, you see.”

He added, “They stand for crime and chaos and corruption. We stand for law and order, injustice, also strong borders.”

Trump emphasized putting America first. “Boy do we have strong borders they put America last we put America first, and as long as I'm in the White House. The United States is not going communist in any way, shape, or form, we'll stop it. We're gonna stop this.”

Trump recalls 2024 campaign in first-anniversary speech

Trump opened his speech by expressing his love for Miami, saying he was excited to return to “Florida.”

He told the audience of business leaders and patriotic Americans, “I am thrilled to be back in magnificent Florida, Miami, Florida, with thousands of incredible business leaders and true American patriots, that’s what you are. We are gathered today on the one year anniversary of the single most consequential election victory, they say.”

Reflecting on his first year since winning a second term, Trump continued, “It felt like I’ve been in this position for so long, and it’s right, at that point one year ago, I was actually campaigning. We won a tremendous election. We won all seven swing states. We won the great state of Florida, by the way, by 1.4 million votes, which is unprecedented.”

Trump also commented on the previous night’s election results, warning Americans that they face a stark choice. “After last night’s results, the decision facing all Americans could not be more clear, we have a choice between Communism and common sense.”

He added, “If you want to see what Congressional Democrats wish to do to America, just look at the result of yesterday’s election in New York, where their party installed a Communist as the mayor... our opponents are hellbent on turning America into Communist Cuba or Socialist Venezuela.”

Trump also addressed the ongoing government shutdown, urging Senate Democrats to reopen the government immediately.
