NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Whoopi Goldberg sharply criticized Donald Trump’s recent remarks in which he called her “filthy” and insulted her co-host Sunny Hostin by labeling her as “dumb.”

In an episode of 'The View' on Thursday, October 10, Goldberg defended herself and her colleague, questioning Trump’s right to criticize, given that his now-closed casino had booked her for performances during its heyday.

Goldberg did not hold back in her retort as she directly addressed Donald Trump by asking, “How dumb are you?”

“I have always been filthy, and you knew that when you hired me, a headline, babe, at your casino. Which I might have continued to play had you not run it into the ground,” she shared, according to Variety.

"You hired me four times. You didn’t know what you were getting? How dumb are you?” she asked again.

Her remarks followed the former president's critical comments after 'The View' hosted Vice President Kamala Harris on Wednesday, October 9.

He took to social media, lambasting the show’s interview and particularly targeting Goldberg, claiming that her language during her performances was “disgusting” and that “half the place left” when she took the stage.

“I said I’d never hire her again,” declared Trump.

Sunny Hostin, a former prosecutor and legal expert, also chimed in with her own response to Donald Trump’s remarks, thanking him for the attention that led to her current role on 'The View'.

“I’m so appreciative, because of people like you, a former prosecutor and legal expert can become a fixture on a show like this,” said Hostin.

“And as for dumb questions, you're always welcome to come here and answer some,” she added.

Concluding her comments about Trump, Goldberg said, "“This is what irritated him, not what’s going on. Hurricanes, all kind of stuff going on in our country, but we irritated him to the point where he had to admit he does watch the show, something we all knew."

“So when you hear people say, ‘I don’t watch that show,’ they’re lying!" she added.

Whoopi Goldberg and Donald Trump's feud rekindled

The latest exchange between Whoopi Goldberg and Donald Trump is not the first time they have clashed.

Goldberg has been a vocal critic of the 78-year-old politician throughout his political career while Trump has frequently taken shots at 'The View' and its hosts, using his platform to criticize the talk show and its perceived biases.

The 'Sister Act' star's jabs at Trump’s failed casino business, coupled with Hostin’s sharp rebuttal, underscore the ongoing tension between the Republican presidential candidate and the media, particularly outspoken female hosts like those on 'The View'.
