WASHINGTON, DC: Previously classified files tied to alleged extraterrestrial encounters, released under President Donald Trump’s disclosure initiative, have revealed mysterious sightings of ‘three to four-foot tall’ beings exiting the unidentified flying objects in the 1960s.

The witness accounts were included in an internal FBI memo dated October 19, 1966, with the subject line “Unidentified Flying Objects”, which was released to the public on Friday, May 09.

The document laid bare details of investigations that reviewed reports that 1965 marked 'the year of the greatest number of UFO sightings'.

The FBI detailed accounts of metallic aircraft that could hover in complete silence, travel at what witnesses described as “fantastic speeds,” and even disrupt electromagnetic equipment.

Documents reveal sighting of 'four-foot tall' crewmen

Among the most chilling portions of the files were eyewitness accounts of encounters with apparent occupants of the craft.

“A few witnesses have reported seeing crewmen who had landed from the objects,” the document stated, describing the beings as “three and a half to four feet tall, wearing what appear to be space suits and helmets.”

The memo is largely centered on Frank Edwards’ “Flying Saucers – Serious Business”, which is credited for sparking fascination and controversy surrounding UFOs by the public at the time.

The memo detailed Edwards’ claims that UFOs were “space vehicles sent to observe activities on earth” and stated the United States Air Force had “deliberately withheld information and given misleading explanations because it fears a mass panic by the public if the public were told the truth.”

In this book, he described “UFOs as polished metal objects, radiating heat and light (sufficient to have burned witnesses who were too near),”

According to Edwards, UFOs are classified into three major types: massive zeppelin-like crafts stretching up to 300 feet long, disc-shaped objects ranging from just a few feet to nearly 100 feet wide, and egg-shaped crafts, which the memo described as the most recently reported type of UFO.

Findings about wreckage from crashed saucers

The files also detailed recovering wreckage from crashed saucers on at least three different occasions. One of the materials discovered from the wreckage was described as a magnesium alloy.

Another was reported to be pure magnesium, while the third was noted as an 'exceptionally hard unknown metal.'

The document alleged that the material was embedded with “thousands of 15-micron metal spheres” and bore signs of tiny micro-meteorite impacts across its surface.

In some incidents, the file says, the ground beneath the mysterious objects was allegedly left burned and scorched after the liftoff of the unidentified flying objects.

“Many of the persons named in the book who have reported them are reliable individuals, including law enforcement officers, military personnel on official duty, military pilots, commercial airline pilots, civilian defense officials, etc,” according to the FBI.

“A number of photographs of the objects have been reproduced in the book, some reportedly taken by reputable persons. Many reported sightings are from atomic and missile research areas,” it continued.
