4-year-old boy dies in 'unimaginable' Lancaster road rage incident after being hit by stray bullet

LANCASTER, LOS ANGELES: In a heartbreaking Lancaster road rage incident, a 4-year-old boy tragically lost his life after being struck by a bullet fired into his parents’ car.
This devastating event occurred on the evening of Friday, December 15.
Additional details emerged during the investigation, revealing two suspects responsible for the heinous act of firing upon the family’s vehicle.
4-year-old child dies in Lancaster
In a tragic incident in Lancaster on Friday, a four-year-old boy lost his life in a road rage shooting after being hit by a stray bullet.
Deputies responded to the 44600 block of Sierra Highway near E. Avenue J around 7.30 pm after getting reports of a gunshot victim in the area, as stated by the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.
Seated at the back of his family’s car, the child was struck by a bullet in the upper body. His parents quickly rushed him to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Authorities noted that the fatal shooting resulted from an uncontrolled incident of road rage as per dailymail.
What police said about tragic accident?
Shortly after the incident, investigators initiated their work on the case and discovered the suspects' vehicle in close proximity to the crime scene.
Furthermore, the police asserted that there were no additional suspects, and no other individuals suffered injuries during the occurrence. They claimed that the suspects' car had cut off the family’s vehicle near Sierra Highway, initiating a pursuit that extended through several side streets in the vicinity.
As they were being trailed, the driver of the family’s car slowed down, allowing the suspects to pull up alongside the passenger side of the car and started shooting.
The identity of the victim was not immediately disclosed following the tragic event. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner is currently working on an autopsy report.
Investigators successfully located the suspect vehicle in the "immediate area" of the shooting, leading to the arrest of two suspects—a 29-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman.
Reacting to the incident, Lancaster Mayor R Rex Parris described the killing as ‘unimaginable.’ He further added, “This could have been any of our families, it could have been any of us."
“It's multi-faceted ... we've got cameras everywhere. We've got these 'flock' cameras, and we pretty much know at this point anybody in the city's license plate, and so we're able to track it.The message we hope gets out there is: If you're a criminal you probably shouldn't come to Lancaster," Paris added as per CBS news.
