CANNES, FRANCE: Adam Driver has finally responded to the accusations made against him by Lena Dunham in her hit new memoir, ‘Famesick’, published in April.
The director alleged in her book, which topped the New York Times bestseller list, that the 42-year-old was at times “verbally aggressive” and once “hurled a chair at the wall next to me” while they worked together on ‘Girls’, the sitcom that ran for six seasons from 2012 to 2017.

On Sunday, May 17, Driver was questioned about Dunham’s claims regarding his alleged violent outbursts on the set of the HBO series during a press conference for ‘Paper Tiger’ at the Cannes Film Festival.
“I have no comment on any of that. I’m saving it all for my book,” he simply replied.

The ‘House of Gucci’ star’s response came after Dunham, 40, detailed several difficult experiences while working with Driver in ‘Famesick’.
Describing one such episode, she reportedly wrote, “I remember doing a fight scene with Adam and how scary it was to meet someone so totally present with such absence. Late one night, as we practiced lines in my trailer, I found that mine were suddenly gone.”
“I knew I’d written them. I’d known them only minutes before. But when I opened my mouth, all that came out was a stammer, until finally, Adam screamed, ‘SAY SOMETHING’ and hurled a chair at the wall next to me. ‘WAKE UP,’ he told me. ‘I’M SICK OF WATCHING YOU JUST STARE,” Dunham added.

Despite these accusations, the Golden Globe winner claimed that she and Driver “still felt like partners” during the first season of ‘Girls’ and that she “spent an inordinate amount of time wondering if Adam liked me.”
“He could be short-tempered and verbally aggressive, condescending and physically imposing,” she wrote, but “could also be protective, loving even.”
Last month, while speaking with The Guardian, Dunham also discussed Driver’s alleged rude behavior toward her.
She said, “At the time, I didn’t have the skill to … it never entered my mind to say, ‘I am your boss, you can’t speak to me this way.’”
“And, at that point in my 20s, I still thought that’s what great male geniuses do: eviscerate you. Which is weird, because I was raised by a male genius who would never do that,” Dunham added.
