LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Amber Tamblyn is under fire after suggesting the brutal killing of Charlie Kirk was a “public execution” and even mocking the fact that the conservative activist's three-year-old daughter possibly witnessed the horrific shooting.

“Wish granted,” Tamblyn wrote in a BlueSky post on Thursday, September 11, while sharing a February 24, 2024, Newsweek article titled, “Trump Ally Charlie Kirk Suggests Children Should Watch Public Executions.”

Charlie Kirk's public executions debate

The Newsweek piece she referenced pointed back to an episode of 'The Charlie Kirk Show', where the Turning Point USA founder and his co-hosts speculated on whether murderers sentenced to death should face public executions.

They suggested crime rates could plummet if such punishments were carried out in the open. At one point, the panel even batted around what age restrictions should apply if such public executions ever returned.

According to Breitbart, the idea isn’t exactly fringe. Many Americans outraged by heinous crimes like the February 2024 murder of 22-year-old nursing student Laken Riley often call for public executions as a deterrent.

Riley was killed by Jose Ibarra, an undocumented immigrant and Tren de Aragua gang member. The news was making headlines around the same time Kirk was discussing the subject on air.

“Amber Tamblyn is a tremendous piece of s**t,” one person blasted on X (formerly Twitter).

Another slammed the 'Joan of Arcadia' actress, writing, “Amber Tamblyn is an ugly, ugly person. In and out. And only getting uglier,” while someone else declared, “These people have no souls.”

“Liberals are another form of life altogether. Just when I think they can't sink any lower, they prove me wrong,” an individual scoffed.

“I hope karma finally catches up to these leftist celebrities, media personalities, activists, and politicians. I’m beyond sick of conservatives and anyone who isn’t part of the leftist terrorist cult always being told to ‘take the high road’ while the left engages in domestic terrorism and nonstop vitriol,” a netizen seethed.

“Well, let’s get 'em out there, their names, their words. Lefties need to be outed so everyone can see what garbage they are. This kind of thing reminds us, we’re on the right side. Plus, it damages the Dems. They can’t help but say stupid, absurd, and off-putting crap,” another mentioned.

TPUSA pays tribute to its founder

Turning Point USA issued a heartfelt statement on Thursday, remembering its founder.

“All of us have lost a leader, a mentor, and a friend. Above all, our hearts are with Erika and their two children. Charlie was the ideal husband and the perfect father. Above all else, we ask you to pray for the Kirks after the incomprehensible loss they have suffered,” the group wrote.

They remembered how Kirk turned from a teen conservative wunderkind into a household name after launching Turning Point out of his parents’ garage at just 18 years old.

“In his thirty-one years, Charlie lived more than any of us will in a hundred. He had an overwhelming passion for life and a deep belief in his power as an individual to make a difference,” TPUSA said. “Charlie loved America, its people, its Constitution, its freedom, and the limitless good all of them have done for the world.”
