NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Another Hollywood couple is moving forward with their divorce. This time, it is comedian Amy Schumer and her estranged husband, Chris Fischer. The couple is now just one step away from officially becoming single again.

Nine months after filing to end their marriage, the estranged couple submitted their proposed divorce judgment to the New York Supreme Court on Thursday, September 24. Schumer and Fischer got married in February 2018 and went on to welcome their son, Gene, in May 2019.

According to Page Six, citing the docket, the judgment was signed by the New York City court and is now awaiting final processing by the county clerk. The report also states that the court issued orders concerning support for the exes' 7-year-old son, Gene.

In November 2025, the comedian, 45, and the chef, 46, sparked split speculation when Schumer posted a photo without her wedding ring. At the time, she shut down the rumors, explaining via Instagram, “I never wear jewelry.”

“Whatever ends up happening with Chris has nothing to do with weight loss or autism,” she added, referring to her body transformation and Fischer’s diagnosis. “Fingers crossed we can make it through... he’s the best.”

Despite the message, Schumer confirmed the following month that she and her husband were getting divorced. “Blah blah blah Chris and I have made the difficult decision to end our marriage after seven years,” she captioned her December 2025 Instagram post.

Fast-forward to November 2025, when Schumer addressed the speculation, saying, “Whatever ends up happening with Chris has nothing to do with weight loss or autism.” According to Us Weekly, a source later shared, "Amy still adores Chris, just not romantically". “He’s a great guy and an even better father.”

The former couple’s marriage reportedly “lost their spark,” which ultimately led them to go their separate ways, according to the source.
