WASHINGTON, DC: Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear has made headlines by directly addressing former president Donald Trump's behavior, calling for more maturity in political discourse.

During a CNN interview, Beshear criticized Trump for his attacks on Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, equating Trump’s insults to the behavior of a middle schooler, as per HuffPost.

Beshear’s remarks come from the upcoming debate between the vice-presidential picks - Walz, representing the Democrats, and Ohio Senator JD Vance, representing the Republicans.

Andy Beshear slams Donald Trump for his childish conduct

Governor Beshear did not hold back in his assessment of Trump’s conduct.

After viewing clips of Trump referring to Governor Walz as a "total moron," Beshear urged that American leadership should rise above such petty name-calling.

He expressed concern that Trump's behavior is not just unbecoming of a former president, but reflects a broader issue within the political landscape - an inability to engage in civil discourse.

"What you just saw is a former president that shows he’s not presidential," Beshear stated during his CNN interview. "I mean, think about that. That’s somebody running for president throwing out names like he’s in middle school."

Beshear's comments reflect a growing belief among some political observers that the country deserves leaders who focus on the issues rather than resorting to childish insults.

Beshear added, "We need a president that’s at least mature enough to be able to work with people on both sides of the aisle and not resort to calling somebody a name."

The Kentucky governor also offered advice to Governor Walz, encouraging him to stay focused on policy discussions rather than getting bogged down by personal attacks.

"Tim doesn’t need to respond to people calling names," Beshear said. "He’s been a lunchroom monitor, he’s dealt with people who do that. He just needs to push forward with who he is, what he stands for, and what this ticket stands for."

Trump appeared to be on the offensive in a recent interview with Fox Nation, where he lashed out at Governor Walz while discussing the impending debate between Walz and Vance.

"[Vance is] going up against a moron. A total moron," Trump said during the interview. He went on to criticize Walz's selection by Vice President Kamala Harris, saying, "How [Kamala Harris] picked him is unbelievable. And I think it’s a big factor."

Donald Trump sparks trolling online in wake of Andy Beshear's comments

As Beshear's comments about Trump circulated online, the Internet was quick to react, with many taking the opportunity to mock the former president.

One person remarked, "Trump isn’t mature enough to take out our trash, much less occupy our Whitehouse. He behaves like a spoiled 10yr old."

Another said, "This is spoiled, entitled weak ass trump having a temper tantrum. A bully calling names. His supporters enable his crap. Screw them and their dumbassery. Blind idiots wanting entertainment, not leadership. They fail our country. Fail."

"The 78 y/o bully throwing incontrollable tantrums...," wrote one person.

Another added, "Trump’s emotional IQ is so so low. People like this were damaged early in life. Wonder what his trauma was. It’s either that or he’s got a narcissistic personality disorder."

One individual wrote, "Trump has no idea how an honorable normal man with ethics like Tim Walz thinks or exists."

Another pointed out, "Because everything is personal for him. He is in this election for his own personal vendetta, he would never put America’s interests above his!"

One netizen remarked, "Trump reminds me of that scenario where you invite your child's whole class to their birthday party. The 'Trump' kid turns up with his little groupies, proceeds to eat the lion's share of the food, has to win all the games & prizes, & bullies and name calls all the other kids."
