NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Congresswoman Nicole Malliotakis appeared on the March 1 episode of 'Fox & Friends' to share her take on Rep Ilhan Omar D-Minn, and Rep Pramila Jayapal, D-Wash, making an undisclosed trip to Cuba to reportedly discuss human rights in the last week of February.

Daughter of a Cuban exile of the Fidel Castro regime, Malliotakis seemed exceptionally displeased by the move and went as far as to call the progressive Democrats 'communist sympathizers' on the show.

The Cuba trip of the Congresswomen

According to Fox News, a small delegation was led by the House of Representatives Democrats on an undisclosed trip to the island nation, which was only reported late February 27.

Congressional Progressive Caucus (CPC) Chair Jayapal, along with Omar, led a dozen people the group of a dozen people, including a staffer from the office of Rep Barbara Lee, D-Calif, to Havana.

A spokesperson for the CPC stated that the group "met with people from across Cuban civil society and government officials to discuss human rights and the US-Cuba bilateral relationship."

Omar spoke of the visit on the House floor on February 29, stating, "I met with many ambassadors from close partners of the United States when I was in Cuba, and they were unanimously opposed to the state sponsor (of terror) designation. Trump and Pompeo created this designation knowing it had no merit and was a political trap for the Bidden administration."

"I call upon President Biden to step out of that trap finally and stop this cruel and counterproductive policy. He should remove the state sponsor designation today," she added.

Rep Nicole Malliotakis reacts to the Cuba visit

"These are anti-American members of Congress, okay? They are communist sympathizers, and they go to Cuba, which is not only a state sponsor of terrorism, but they side with our adversaries," the Congresswoman told co-hosts Ainsley Earhardt and Todd Piro.

"They are in bed with Iran, North Korea, communist China, Russia. They allow for them to operate spy bases 90 miles from our shores. They have harbored fugitives. They have harbored terrorists. And it's unconscionable that these members of Congress would go there trying to appease the government of Cuba. And then they go under the guise of wanting to do something about human rights."

However, she went on to share the plight of the Cuban people, saying, "Do they know that the people in Cuba, including my relatives, earn about $15 a month, $15 a month? So they come here in the United States, they're preaching about fair wages. Everyone should make a living wage. And then they go and support a government that pays its people $15."

"And you know why? It's a farce. It's a farce because every single one of these members voted against the resolution standing with the Cuban people in 2021, when they were on the streets, fighting for their lives, fighting for freedom. The Socialist Squad and Jayapal, they all voted no to stand against the people and with the Cuban regime," she added.
