NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Anti-Israel protestors clashed with police in New York City on Friday, June 28, in an attempt to sabotage a high-profile fundraiser for President Joe Biden after the congressman’s catastrophic debate with former President Donald Trump.

Protesters chanted, "There is only one solution—Intifada revolution!" as they made their way from Madison Square Garden to the exquisite political event being held at the Hammerstein Ballroom on West 34th Street in Midtown Manhattan.

Anti-Israel protestors screamed profanities and showed middle fingers

According to police, at least 38 persons were detained in connection with the protest, as reported by Fox News.

Activists were seen on camera brandishing signs and giving the police the middle finger as they were arrested by riot gear-clad police officers for defying orders to move off the street and onto the sidewalk.

Additionally, the protesters detonated red and green smoke bombs. A wheelchair-bound protester was visible on the ground amid a flurry of activity where the air was thick with smoke.

The demonstrators, many of whom were wearing keffiyeh or masks, carried Palestinian flags and also had the transgender flag, the Saudi Arabian flag, and the Yemeni flag on full display.

An anti-Israel activist group instigated followers to ‘confront genocide Joe’

An anti-Israel activist organization called Within Our Lifetime called on its supporters to "confront genocide Joe" on X (formerly Twitter), on the day of the rally.

"Genocidal politicians are not welcome in New York City," a poster on the group’s X account reads. "Genocide Joe and anyone who supports him or his genocide in Palestine will be met with protests everywhere they go."

The demonstrators then proceeded to Madison Square Park, which is situated between 5th and Madison Avenue. There, they were confronted by a pro-Israeli individual who was waving what looked to be a photo of a Hamas hostage that had been taken during the October 7 attacks.

Anti-Israel protesters there could be heard shouting, "Genocide Joe has got to go.”

More than 640 donors gathered inside the Hammerstein Ballroom to hear Joe Biden speak

As per the New York Post, Joe Biden addressed more than 640 contributors inside the Hammerstein Ballroom following his widely condemned debate with Donald Trump on Thursday, June 27.

The actors Alan Cumming and Billy Porter were among those in attendance at the fundraiser, which sold tickets ranging from $250 for balcony seats to up to $500,000 for a table.

New York City has become a hotbed for anti-Israel protests over the last few months

Over the past few months, anti-Israel demonstrations have become increasingly common in New York City.

Nationwide demonstrations against Israel were triggered by the arrests of anti-Israel demonstrators at Columbia University in April, and earlier this month, demonstrators and police clashed outside a memorial honoring the victims of Hamas' October 7 attack.

Joe Biden tried to reassure Democrats in the key swing state of North Carolina of his fitness

Before the Friday fundraiser, Joe Biden made an effort to reassure North Carolina Democrats, a pivotal battleground state, that he still possesses the necessary skills to lead the country for an additional four years.

"I know I’m not a young man, to state the obvious," Biden, who at 81 is the oldest president in the nation's history, told cheering supporters.

"Folks, I don’t walk as easy as I used to. I don’t speak as smoothly as I used to. I don’t debate as well as I used to," Biden acknowledged. "But I know what I do know. I know how to tell the truth. I know right from wrong. And I know how to do this job. I know how to get things done. And I know, like millions of Americans know, when you get knocked down you get back up."

Internet criticizes the Biden administration for failing to handle anti-Israel demonstrators

Netizens lambasted the current president for the continuous surge in anti-Israel protests in New York City.

One X user wrote, "People are just worn slick from all the anger constantly stoked by the left and especially the President. Campaigning is about sharing a vision of the future and if that future is a continuous agitation, anger and activism that the left is selling, people are no longer buying it."

Another tweet read, "So They arrest protesters if they disrupt a Demarcates Fundriser but not for destroying lives and property."

"Anti-Israel protesters are unique. It's like if Oregonians were mad at Washington and Idaho because it used to be 'The Oregon Territory'," mocked one.

Someone else added, "I’m sure they will be let go the next day! Unlike J6 who can rot in the gulag."

"Funny they can 'protest' anywhere else and that’s fine BUT don’t disrupt a Biden 'megabucks fundraiser' you’ll go to jail for that," remarked one user.
