Trump hailed as 'The People’s President' for dialing Jocelyn Nungaray's mom minutes before Biden debate
ATLANTA, GEORGIA: Former President Donald Trump called the mother of 12-year-old Houston girl Jocelyn Nungaray just before taking the debate stage against President Joe Biden on Thursday, June 27, and it reportedly “shocked” the mother of the deceased girl, Alexis, due to the former president’s goodwill gesture.
Jocelyn, who according to the authorities was strangled to death last week by two undocumented immigrants, was interred earlier in the day at a north Houston cemetery.
Donald Trump reached out to Jocelyn Nungaray’s mother, Alexis, before presidential debate
Donald Trump said in the debate that he had spoken to Jocelyn Nungaray's mother prior to his heated exchange with Joe Biden, but as per Trump's campaign, that conversation happened just ten minutes before the debate began, Fox News reported.
The 77-year-old said, "I just spoke to the mother and they just had the funeral for this girl, 12 years old, this is horrible what's taken place," during the debate in which he brought up the subject of illegal immigration multiple times and cited several high-profile murder cases that authorities claim were committed by migrants.
Alexis' best friend on Donald Trump's call to victim's mother
Victoria Galvan, who is the best friend of Alexis, was with the devastated mother when Donald Trump called. She told the New York Post that the former president said Alexis was the only person he would have preferred to speak with before the debate.
"He was like, ‘I’m actually about to come on for a debate’ … He gave his condolences and he said that he would be reaching back out to her," Galvan told the outlet, which was the first to report that Trump and Alexis spoke 10 minutes before the debate.
"He wanted to… say that he was praying for Alexis and that he’s been thinking about her and he wanted to reach out. He said that he was going to reach out in a couple days to her … I mean, she was really … we were all shocked," Galvan reported.
Jocelyn Nungaray’s murder suspects are facing capital charges
Johan Jose Martinez-Rangel, 22, and Franklin Jose Pena Ramos, 26, the two suspects charged with Jocelyn Nungaray’s capital murder, have had their bail set at $10 million this week.
They had both entered the country illegally and were living close to El Paso, Texas before the Border Patrol apprehended and freed the two Venezuelan men.
Prosecutors claimed Nungaray showed signs of sexual assault before she was strangled to death early last week.
White House pays condolence to Jocelyn Nungaray’s family
In an NBC News statement last week, a White House spokesperson said, “our hearts go out to the family and loved ones of Jocelyn Nungaray.”
"We cannot comment on active law enforcement cases. But fundamentally, anyone found guilty of this type of heinous and shocking crime should be held accountable, to the fullest extent of the law," the statement added.

Donald Trump decimates Joe Biden during debate over the border crisis
During the discussion of the current southern border crisis, Donald Trump repeatedly attacked Joe Biden, accusing him of destroying a safe border and turning the US into a "rats' nest."
"He's the one that killed people with the bad border including hundreds of thousands of people dying, and also killing our citizens when they come in. We are living right now in a rats’ nest," Trump asserted.
"They're killing our people in New York and California and every state in the union because we don't have borders anymore. Every state is now a border," he said.
"And because of his ridiculous, insane and very stupid policies, people are coming in and they're killing our citizens at a level that we've never seen," Trump added. "We call it migrant crime. I call it Biden migrant crime, they're killing our citizens at a level that we've never seen before."
Internet says 'Donald Trump really cares about the American people'

"Why is the federal government helping millions of criminals and terrorists to rob, rape and kill the American citizens they serve? America has to replace the entire federal government," tweeted one user.
