ATLANTA, GEORGIA: Former President Donald Trump said that he thinks President Joe Biden "will be the nominee" for the Democratic Party despite the fact the president's abominable performance in the debate on Thursday night, June 27, which led some on the left to call for his withdrawal from the 2024 race. 

Trump and Biden squared off for the first time since 2020 in the first presidential debate hosted by CNN in Atlanta on Thursday night, June 27. "It was a great honor to be on stage representing the people of our country," Trump told Fox News in an exclusive interview on Friday morning, June 28.

Donald Trump's campaign didn't wait long to declare victory following the debate 

Not long after the verbal bout concluded, the Trump campaign declared victory, saying that the former president and presumptive Republican nominee "delivered the greatest debate performance and victory in history to the largest voter audience in history, making clear exactly how he will improve the lives of every American."

"Joe Biden on the other hand showed exactly why he deserves to be fired," Trump campaign co-chairs Chris LaCivita and Susie Wiles said in a statement on Thursday night, June 27. "Despite taking a week-long vacation at Camp David to prepare for the debate, Biden was unable to defend his disastrous record on the economy and the border," they added.

They continued, "President Trump is spot-on when he says that if Joe Biden is too incompetent to stand trial, then Biden is too incompetent to be President."

Democrats are cynic on Joe Biden's adroitness to serve as the president 

Not only did Biden's opponents share this opinion about his performance, but so did his traditional allies. A number of Democratic strategists, including several former Biden administration officials like White House Communications Director Kate Bedingfield and White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki expressed concern for the president's reelection campaign's future.

Biden stumbled through parts of Thursday night's debate, answering incoherently and with a guttural growl tone. Besides, he became distracted multiple times which alarmed his closest political and media allies. The outlet was informed by sources that some Democrats were even considering Biden's replacement as the nominee at the Democratic convention in August.

Donald Trump believes Joe Biden will not be removed

Trump stated on Fox News that he does not believe Biden will be replaced in response to questions about Democrats' concerns about Biden's performance and rumors that the president might be replaced. "No, I don't think so," Trump said, praising his performance in the debate. "They wouldn’t have done any better. No one else would have been better," he added.

Donald Trump asserted that he would have beaten anyone else on the stage 

Trump stated that he "beat" Biden and implied that he would have defeated anyone else present on stage. A flash poll conducted by CNN following Thursday night's presidential debate showed Trump's resounding triumph over Biden. According to a CNN poll conducted during the debate, 67% of viewers thought Trump had won while 33% thought Biden had.

Joe Biden told reporters that he performed well in the debate 

However, Biden, much to the awe of everyone, told reporters following the CNN presidential debate that he thought he handled Trump well. "I think we did well," Biden told reporters at an Atlanta area Waffle House. When many voiced concerns about the president's voice during the debate performance, Biden was asked if he had a cold, which the campaign disclosed.

"I am sick," Biden said. Officials revealed during the debate Thursday night that the president had a cold.

Internet predicts an easy win for Donald Trump following the debate 

Neitzens ridiculed Biden and predicted an emphatic win forTrump following the CNN debate. One optimistic X user tweeted, "We can only hope!! That will be an easy win for Trump!!" Another opined, "They will replace him with Newsome at the DNC in Chicago. 2016 sanders was winning primaries, but Clinton was the nominee." 



 



 

"I don't think they have a choice, it's to close to the end. Wow Dems are in a bad spot of their own making," remarked one user while another said, "I hope Biden remains the nominee so voters can hold him accountable for his corrupt policies and the damage he has done to America!" 



 



 

"Yes Biden will be the democrats nominee because they have all the ballots preprinted with an x next to his name and all the machines have been programmed #StopTheSteal," remarked someomne else and another chimed in, "The reason why there was no audience, lol, they all know old Joe isn't fit to run."
