Anya Taylor-Joy gushes over heartfelt bond with ‘darling’ Miley Cyrus at Walk of Fame ceremony
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Miley Cyrus was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Friday, May 22. Supporting her at the career milestone were her mother, Tish Cyrus, her sister, Brandi Cyrus, and her fiance, Maxx Morando.
In addition, the singer’s celebrity friends, actress Anya Taylor-Joy and fashion designer Donatella Versace, were also present at the event, with Taylor-Joy calling the ‘Hannah Montana’ actress “a star”.

‘The Queen's Gambit’ actress also detailed her bond with Cyrus as she said, “Miley didn't just grow up in front of the world; she outran every expectation it set for her. She challenged the rules, rewrote them, and, every once in a while, set them on fire in a teddy bear costume.”
Taylor-Joy further noted that Cyrus had “never asked for permission to evolve,” and instead had done so “beautifully, unapologetically and always, always authentically.”

Concluding her emotional speech, ‘The Witch’ actress added, “Miley, darling, you have always been, and are now quite literally, a star. Thank you for shining brightly for all of us.”
Taylor-Joy’s words surely touched Cyrus as she embraced her sweetly after her speech.
Miley Cyrus calls honor 'accumulation of devotion'
Meanwhile, the 33-year-old songwriter also reflected on her journey and the honor she’s received.
Delivering her speech, she said, “What feels so special to me about this star is that it's an accumulation of devotion. The star isn't something that you win like a seasonal game. It's not something that you can chase or collect.”
“It's not something you make the next record for and then tote it around like a trophy,” she shared, before adding, “My name is laid in gold and pink terrazzo, and it's fierce and it's fun, and it's fabulous.”

The ‘Flowers’ singer even gave a shout to her father, Billy Ray Cyrus, who was not there with her for her major milestone moment.
“My dad used to say that a skyscraper starts with a jackhammer, so does a star on the Walk of Fame, by the way. And it's not about the force, but it's about the repetition.”
Cyrus was just 13 years old when she began working in Hollywood after getting the role of Miley Stewart/Hannah Montana on the Disney Channel series.

Ahead of the May 22 ceremony, Walk of Fame producer Ana Martinez said of Cyrus, “Miley deserves her flowers as she has made a lasting impact on the entertainment industry, and we are thrilled to honor her with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.”
“Generations of young girls have grown up watching her evolve, finding inspiration in her journey and fearless creativity,” she added.
