WASHINGTON, DC: As Los Angeles continues to reel from days of intense rioting — rocks hurled at cops, Molotov cocktails flying through the air, and streets lit up like a war zone — New York congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) brushed it all off as the handiwork of a few unruly teens.

The “Squad” member jumped on Bluesky and doubled down on her take. According to AOC, the whole mess is a trap, and Democrats are walking right into it.

Democrats "don’t need to answer for every teen who throws a rock,” she posted on Tuesday, adding that her party was falling for a GOP setup by even trying to explain the chaos erupting in the sanctuary city.

Instead, she pointed fingers squarely at President Donald Trump and his hardline immigration policies.

It is 100% carrying water for the opposition to participate in this collective delusion that Dems for some reason need to answer for every teen who throws a rock rather than hold the Trump admin accountable for intentionally creating chaos and breaking the law to stoke violence. They are in charge.

“It is 100% carrying water for the opposition to participate in this collective delusion that Dems for some reason need to answer for every teen who throws a rock rather than hold the Trump admin accountable for intentionally creating chaos and breaking the law to stoke violence,” AOC wrote. “They are in charge.”

AOC says Donald Trump’s ICE raids sparked LA riots

In another post, AOC said the root of LA’s unrest lies in Trump’s immigration crackdown.

Trump, who bulldozed back into the White House with a promise to carry out the “largest deportation effort in US history,” deported 65,000 people and arrested 66,000 in just his first 100 days this term, Fox News reported.

“Everything was fine until Trump decided to unleash violent raids w/o grounds in elementary schools, shopping areas, & peaceful public spaces,” she said, claiming ICE “illegally blocked Members of Congress’ entry into the facilities they are disappearing people into, escalating the situation.”

“Let’s start there," she concluded.

Interestingly, she didn’t put any of this on X (formerly Twitter). She kept it to Bluesky and reposted the hot takes on Instagram Stories, a move some saw as dodging the backlash that was about to rain down on her.

AOC roasted for dismissing LA riots as 'teens' throwing rocks

The New York congresswoman was excoriated for her comments on social media.

"Blame the cop for turning on the siren as he is arresting the murderer, not the murderer," one fumed on X.

"Wait, didn't the Democrats just finish saying there was no violence and destruction? At least they could sync their stories," another insisted.

"I can't listen to her bs..... No one did that.... Is she really that clueless.... Nope she's spreading lies....," a comment read.

"Can someone please put that woman in a straitjacket already?!" someone else asked.

"If brains were gasoline, she couldn't drive a piss-ants go-cart a full lap around a Cherio," another quipped.

"Doing everything but taking ownership or doing what she said and holding people accountable. @AOC you are literally an idiot," one individual remarked.

Another said, "Stop the ignorance, please!"

One netizen added, "No one cares what she thinks."

LA protests against ICE raids turned violent

Things on the ground have been anything but peaceful. Rioters have thrown rocks at cop cars, launched fireworks at officers, graffitied buildings, and even smashed windows at the LAPD headquarters. In one video, a man, later identified as Elpidio Reyna, was seen hurling rocks at moving police vehicles in Paramount, California.

US Attorney Bill Essayli confirmed Reyna is an adult. The FBI is still hunting him down, offering a $50,000 reward for tips.

On Wednesday, June 11, the Department of Homeland Security said ICE arrested a previously deported illegal immigrant from Mexico after he allegedly tossed a Molotov cocktail at law enforcement during Saturday’s riots. That man is now facing attempted murder charges.

But AOC’s not the only one pushing the blame away from the streets. California Governor Gavin Newsom and LA Mayor Karen Bass also pinned the chaos on Trump. The Commander-in-Chief, however, believes his actions saved the city from total destruction.

“If our troops didn’t go into Los Angeles, it would be burning to the ground right now, just like so much of their housing burned to the ground,” he posted on Truth Social Wednesday morning. “The great people of Los Angeles are very lucky that I made the decision to go in and help!!!”
