WASHINGTON, DC: President Donald Trump hinted that he might slap his own name on the brand-new Gold Card immigration status. Yes, the “Trump Card” might be a real thing.

Trump dropped this little nugget during the second segment of his interview with Fox News host Laura Ingraham, The Express US reported.

Ingraham kicked things off by grilling Trump about the EB-5 visas, which have long been a magnet for fraud and abuse. "The EB-5 visas, you have spoken about them in the fraud and abuse of that process over years," she noted. "They're essentially Immigrant Investment Visas."

She went on to explain that for a mere $800K, an individual could "get a fast track to a green card" without needing to speak English or possess a unique skill. "It's highly sought after. There's a long queue of people waiting to get there," she added.

But Trump interrupted her with a smirk, saying he’s got something "even more popular."

Donald Trump hints at renaming Gold Card as 'Trump Card'

Laura Ingraham touched on the new Gold Card visa that President Donald Trump has been pushing for.

"The Golden Visa, which you are endorsing," she pointed out, would still need to pass through Congress before it could become reality.

She then asked why an “America First” president like Trump was essentially putting US citizenship up for sale.

Trump didn’t flinch. "That's precisely because I'm America First," he shot back, noting that "you're getting a lot of benefits" for $5 million.

"Let's say we sell a million of them. That's $5 trillion," Trump said. "We are now an unbelievably successful country."

According to him, all that money will go straight toward paying down America’s debts. "It's all going to pay down debt. We're going to have very little debt," he assured. "If you did $5 million. Now, generally, people who can pay $5 million are going to be job producers. Okay? They're going to be successful."

"I will tell you what my people want to call it," Trump confessed. "It'll drive you crazy. It'll drive the left crazy. They want to call it the Trump card."

According to Trump, his version would be way hotter than the current Gold Card. "The Trump Card sells much better than the gold card everybody has," he boasted.

But before anyone gets too comfortable with their brand-new Trump Card, the POTUS made it clear that not everyone is going to hold onto it. He said that those who are deemed "unsavory" will have their card revoked, their money refunded, and will be immediately expelled from the country.

He’s also convinced this whole plan is going to be a massive hit. "I think it's going to sell like crazy," he predicted at a Cabinet meeting last month. "It’s a bargain."

What is a Gold Card?

The Gold Card program itself was only rolled out last month as part of Donald Trump’s broader plan to crack down on illegal immigration.

"We're gonna be selling a Gold Card. You have a green card; this is a gold," he announced at his first Cabinet news conference last month.

"We're gonna be putting a price on that card of about $5 million, and that's gonna give you green card privileges plus it's gonna be a route to citizenship," he added.

He added, "Wealthy people will be coming into our country by buying this card. They'll be wealthy, and they'll be successful and they'll be spending a lot of money and paying a lot of taxes and employing a lot of people."

Trump even compared the Gold Card to a “green card but at a higher level of sophistication.”

And just in case you thought this was all bluster, experts say demand is already soaring.

Dominic Volek, head of private clients at Henley & Partners, told NBC Philadelphia that the new program is a gold mine for the ultra-rich looking for a US residency fast pass.

"The introduction of the gold card visa program represents a unique opportunity for high-net-worth individuals looking to secure US residence with a pathway to citizenship," he explained.

And people are already calling to get in on the action. "The US remains the undisputed leader in private wealth creation and accumulation," Volek said.

According to Henley & Partners, around 135,000 millionaires are expected to pack their bags and migrate to a new country in 2025. The two places that usually top these lists are the United Arab Emirates and the United States of America.
