LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Former Republican governor Arnold Schwarzenegger has crossed party lines to endorse Vice President Kamala Harris and her running mate, Tim Walz in the 2024 race.

Schwarzenegger expressed concerns over the potential impacts of a second term for former president Donald Trump, warning it could lead to “four more years of b******t” and further division within the country.

Arnold Schwarzenegger says he hates politics, dislikes Republicans and Democrats alike

On Wednesday, October 30, Arnold Schwarzenegger took to X (formerly Twitter) to clarify his stance.

Known for his reluctance to participate in partisan politics, the actor said, “I don’t really do endorsements."

"I’m not shy about sharing my views, but I hate politics and don’t trust most politicians," he added.

However, he acknowledged that his past as a Republican governor from 2003 to 2011 and public figure drew people to his opinion.

“Let me be honest with you: I don’t like either party right now,” he explained.

Schwarzenegger criticized Republicans for abandoning free-market ideals, rejecting election results, and driving up the national deficit, while also expressing concern over Democratic policies that he believes could increase crime in urban areas.

Arnold Schwarzenegger says Donald Trump's presidency will be 'more hateful'

Without naming Donald Trump directly, Arnold Schwarzenegger criticized the former president for fostering division and disrespecting American democratic principles, particularly regarding election results.

“Rejecting the results of an election is as un-American as it gets,” he said, emphasizing his belief that all Americans should feel pride in their country rather than allowing it to be “a trash can for the world.”

"It will just be four more years of b******t with no results that makes us angrier and angrier, more divided, and more hateful," the former professional bodybuilder said.

Schwarzenegger cited his global reputation and American patriotism as factors behind his decision, saying, “I will always be an American before I am a Republican.”

He then announced his endorsement for Harris and Walz, expressing a desire for unity rather than divisive politics.

Arnold Schwarzenegger's call for change

Arnold Schwarzenegger expressed frustration with politicians whom he described as prioritizing personal gain over public service.

“The only people that benefit from this crap are the politicians who prefer having talking points to win elections,” he wrote, asserting that American citizens, who face real consequences of political decisions, deserve better representation.

In his endorsement of Harris, Schwarzenegger acknowledged policy disagreements with the Democratic platform but maintained his stance that unity is paramount.

“I think the only way to do that is with Harris and Walz,” he stated, urging Americans to cast their votes and “put this junk behind us.”

Schwarzenegger concluded his post with a plea for national unity. “Turn the page and put this junk behind us. And even if you disagree with me, vote, because that’s what we do as Americans,” he wrote, according to The Hill.
